It has been a busy graduations season at @ThinkUHI, and we would like to congratulate all our students celebrating their achievements! Big congratulations especially to one of our PG Researchers, Dr @AlexDold, who is graduating today at the UHI celebrations at @EdenCourt!

I am finally Dr Dold! Being a "doctor of #Outlander" is already amazing. I can't wait to see how my life develops from here. Follow along on instagram (Alex.dold.historian) or check out my website alexdold.com

Really enjoying the #PGconference on the topic of re-reading @UofGSMLC. It was a pleasure to present my paper on the foreshadowing strategies in @Writer_DG's Outlander novels yesterday. Continuing today with more interesting papers and meeting inspiring researchers.

Join our PGR student, @AlexDold, today (Tue 15 Oct 7.15pm (BST)) for this event at @FOHigLib! The talk focuses on intertextuality — a concept that explores how books, movies & other works of art echo, reference, or transform each other. Joining link & details in original post ⬇️
Join us on Tuesday 15 October for our next event - @AlexDold on Intertextuality or How all stories are linked. On Zoom or watch together in person fohl.org.uk/event/intertextu…

Been waiting for an important call which in the end didn't get through due to network issues. @O2 stop telling me my connection is fine if it clearly isn't. Also, please offer an option to chat with a member of staff rather than calling which I obviously can't!!
Does anybody know any academic sources about tourism to Loch Ness? Preferably something that explores when it started and how it got more and more popular to visit #outlanderscholar #history #tourism
I have been trying for months to get (affordable) tickets to see @taylorswift13 in Edinburgh this weekend but it might be time to admit that it won't happen and go back to #phdlife instead of listening to all her albums.

World Outlander Day falls on June 1 each year with fans the world over paying tribute to the epic love story between Jamie (played by Sam Heughan ) & Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe ). This was the date Diana Gabaldon published her first novel way back in 1991 #WorldOutlanderDay
Happy World #Outlander Day! Celebrating the day by not working on my #PhD but spending time with family (and their new puppy) in the Highlands. #outlanderscholar #phdlife

Thoroughly enjoyed (and inspired by) our @UHIHistory postgrad research gathering today in Dornoch, hosted by @HillofFear and featuring the research of @MrCameronHist, @AlexDold, @MelanieMMcKay, @peterjnoble1, and many others. Great to bring our outstanding PGR community together.
Yesterday I presented a paper on Scottish reading history and how it is represented in #Outlander. Fantastic PGR symposium organised by the PGR interns of @UofGCSCS. Thanks for having me and for 2 days of amazing presentations from fellow PGRs. #outlanderscholar
#PhDlife is a whole lot of editing these days. While I have a rough draft written for each of my discussion chapters, I'm not happy with the structure and flow of argument yet.
Editing is much harder than writing! #outlanderscholar
