Champ I understand different judges look for different things and a lot is personal preference but let’s talk boxing… punches landed, ring generalship, dominance, tempo control. All with young Gomez.
These referees & judges need to be held accountable @AlexArthur1

Yes.
Oleksandr Usyk is the best heavyweight in the world but he is no longer fighting the best heavyweights in the world. Daniel Dubois is the best heavyweight in the world who is fighting the best heavyweights in the world.

Just finished watching it this second, couldn’t agree with you more. Was pretty shitty that call.
1/2 Once again, Thomas Taylor makes it all about him. The other week he's shoving fighters back to their corner full force, now he's stopping fights that are finished. All that kid was obligated to do was find the soles of his feet inside 10. He did!

Daniel Dubios could be the best heavyweight on the planet now.

Felt so bad on young @MichaelGomezJnr tonight. Terrible decision. Being kind to O’Doherty I had it 9-2 with a round even.

Disgusting… no grassroots boxing because of the direction the sport is heading is pure sacrilege. These people should not be allowed to call what they do ‘Boxing’

Sick of hearing “ but they sell tickets” In 20 years there will be no grassroots boxing

Being honest, it's a fight I wish Ali hadn't taken. He won it, and that closing round is worth celebrating, but Shavers, Norton 3, Spinks 1, and the two calamaties at the end did him so much damage. And then you have 100s of lazy sparring rounds thrown in.

Ali was so much more than a “warrior” mate! How little justice a few lines on X can do to his greatness. His boxing genius, sheer will, God given durability, psychology & ability to solve problems under unimaginable pressure separated him from almost every heavyweight ever. 🥊🐐
🔥 Muhammad Ali is old, battle-worn, exhausted and hurt badly by Earnie Shavers at the end of Round 14. His response is a near 40-punch assault at the end of Round 15 that almost forces a stoppage. Ali took WAY TOO MUCH in this fight, but what a warrior that guy was! 🇺🇸🥊🇺🇸

🚨🎙️ Roy Keane on Ryan Gravenberch’s Red Card Against Manchester City; 🗣️"Listen, I’m sitting here absolutely flabbergasted by what I’ve just witnessed. We are talking about Liverpool versus Manchester City at Anfield. This isn't a pre-season kick-around, this isn't a mid-table dead-rubber—this is as big as it gets in world football. You’ve got millions watching around the globe, two top-class teams going toe-to-toe, and the entire match gets ruined because the officials want to be the main event. Look at the match context! Ryan Gravenberch was having one of his absolute best games in a Liverpool shirt. He’s driving through the midfield, he’s testing Gianluigi Donnarumma with a cracking strike from range, and then literally seconds later, he makes a recovery challenge in the City half on Jérémy Doku. Was it a foul? Yeah, fine, give a free-kick. But to whip out a second yellow card in the 62nd minute for that? It is an absolute disgrace. The first yellow card early in the second half was soft enough as it was, but to issue a second yellow—effectively killing the entire spectacle—requires a level of common sense and match management that these referees simply don't possess right now. Where is the game management? Where is the understanding of what is at stake? Referee Chris Kavanagh couldn't wait to get his card out. It’s refereeing by a textbook without having a single clue about the emotion, intensity, or context of a massive Premier League fixture. You treat a big game like a big game! You let the players fight it out on the pitch. You don't send a lad off for a minor collision on the halfway line when neither tackle warranted a sending off. And what happens? The moment Liverpool go down to ten men, the entire balance shifts. City take complete control, Erling Haaland scores two minutes later, Doku gets another, and the game is done. The decision-making from the officials today was shocking. It robs the fans, it robs the players, and frankly, it ruins what should have been an iconic battle. They need to start applying some real football intelligence out there instead of hiding behind harsh whistle-blowing."

Not sure I’ve heard anything as accurate as this.
Facts. I miss the times when promoters used to promote and people judged boxers based on their skill, not their followers or ability to put on a pantomime.

Money! Most punters aren’t interested in proper boxing anymore. They just want a circus. That’s why it’s dead! Handbags, talking shit, acting like clowns and shit windmillers!

Also mate, Boxing deserves better. Its history deserves better. And its fighters deserve a sport in which sporting merit, not spectacle, remains the ultimate currency. Terrible this being allowed!

Boxing has a rich & distinguished history, built upon merit, courage & the pursuit of genuine competitive excellence. To see that heritage subordinated to manufactured entertainment & commercial opportunism is nothing short of an indictment of those entrusted with protecting it!
