@utila_io is a noncustodial MPC wallet platform for fintechs, banks, and enterprises. 400+ institutions move $15B+ a month through it.
Institutions have been interested in stablecoins for years, but they were historically blocked by bad UX.
Utila solved that, building a platform closer to a banking app than a crypto wallet.
But one thing was still missing: privacy.
On public ledgers, all transactions are visible to competitors, counterparties, and anyone running chain analysis. This is a big privacy concern that has limited institutional adoption even as the UX improves.
That's where Aleo comes in.
Aleo is a blockchain built for private, programmable applications. Balances stay hidden, counterparties stay confidential, and amounts are encrypted.
This is what Utila needed to level up their onboarding, making Aleo their first privacy-focused blockchain partner.
USDCx and USAD now appear in Utila, with two balances per token, one private and one public.
Shielded doesn't mean unaccountable. Selective disclosure lets auditors and regulators access specific details when required.
Private when it needs to be. Provable when it has to be.
After the integration, Utila had the same interface and same workflows, with an added “Shield” button.
But with privacy introduced, a lot of new use cases opened up for mainstream businesses: payroll, vendor payments, treasury movements, cross-border transfers, and more.

Today, we are opening early access to Shield Swap.
For a decade, institutions considering onchain finance have faced an unacceptable tradeoff. Transparent markets expose wallet activity, portfolios, and trading strategies. Existing privacy infrastructure often lacks the controls regulated firms require.
Shield Swap brings confidentiality and compliance into the same non-custodial venue.
Sender and receiver addresses remain confidential, preventing the public from linking trades to a firm or reconstructing its portfolio. Amounts and token types remain visible and auditable.
Established compliance partners provide screening and compliance records. View keys allow firms to disclose specific information to auditors and other authorized parties without exposing their entire financial history.
Trades settle in natively issued stablecoins, and participants retain control of their assets.
Early access is now open to institutions, businesses, and governments. General availability is planned for later this year.
