METEOR SHOWER TONIGHT! ☄️ Look up, one of the best meteor showers of the year peaks from Midnight to Dawn and the timing is perfect: the Perseids are peaking under a New Moon, meaning virtually no moonlight will wash out the show. Roughly 50–100 meteors per hour are possible under ideal conditions, although a more realistic count is a few dozen per hour for most depending on darkness, clouds and light pollution. You may even notice meteors flashing different colors as their material and the surrounding atmosphere glow during entry—and the Perseids are especially famous for bright, colorful fireballs and long-lasting trails.
