the most underrated part of muse is the model that powers it. thank you to the MSL research team—some of the most technically brilliant, hardworking scientists and engineers i’ve ever known. you brought original ideas to difficult problems, invented new methods, and battled through enormous technical complexity to build the jewel at the heart of muse.
thank you to the teams working on agentic post-training, tool and computer use, memory, personalization, alignment, safety, and multimodal understanding. thank you to the people building data, evals, and infrastructure beneath it all. so much scientific ingenuity lives in those details: designing a better experiment, finding the flaw in an apparently good result, staying with a stubborn problem until a new way forward becomes clear.
and now that jewel powers a beautiful product your grandma can use without knowing a thing about the extraordinary complexity underneath. it will just work for her. all those discoveries, all that patient work, becoming something simple and useful in another person’s hands. there is something magical about that. i’m grateful to be building with you.

a week after launch, muse is now the #1 app in the App Store!
it’s been SO exciting to see how much y’all have done with muse. we can’t wait to do more together!

Muse Spark 1.3 is rolling out today with frontier performance almost too cheap to meter. This is the biggest jump we've made so far on coding and agentic work. Try it in Muse Code and our API.
Next up 🍉 and Muse Spark open weights releases coming soon.

Muse Code is out of beta and now built to handle bigger, more complex engineering tasks. Developers can get started with one command today:
curl -fsSL dev.meta.ai/install.sh | bash

Muse Image is now available on Meta Model API and priced for production volumes at $0.01/image.
It’s an agentic image model that reasons before it renders. Each call searches the web to refine the output through iterative passes and evaluates the prompt for precise elements like charts and QR codes.
Text-to-image, single-image and multi-image editing, and multi-reference composition all live in one model, so there's no multi-step pipeline to stitch together.

Releasing Muse Code in beta today. It's a terminal coding agent that takes on complete software engineering tasks across large repos: planning changes, writing code, validating the results. Powered by Muse Spark 1.2, a coding-focused model update.

The Muse Spark 1.2 API pricing is quite crazy, especially as a daily driver for most coding tasks. It's up to 250x cheaper than Fable and 150x cheaper than GPT-5.6 Sol!
Price per 1M tokens:
Cached input - $0.002
Input - $0.10
Output - $0.20
Try it out!

🖼️Today, we’re introducing Muse Image!
Muse Image pushes image generation toward a more agentic paradigm, with code execution, search-grounded reasoning, and self-refinement built into the generation loop.
Honored to be part of this incredible team.

1/ today we're releasing muse spark, the first model from MSL. nine months ago we rebuilt our ai stack from scratch. new infrastructure, new architecture, new data pipelines. muse spark is the result of that work, and now it powers meta ai. 🧵
Join us at the oral presentation and poster to learn more about Autoregressive Distillation. #CVPR2025
Thrilled to share that our CVPR 2025 paper “𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬”(ARD) has been selected as an Oral! ✨
Catch us at CVPR on Saturday, June 14
🗣 Oral Session 4A — 14:00-14:15, Karl Dean Ballroom
🖼 Poster Session 4 — 17:00-19:00, ExHall D, #230

In standard diffusion we sample images step-by-step, with each step depending only on the immediately preceding one. We distilled the diffusion transformer into an autoregressive architecture (like an LLM) that leverages the entire history of samples, which significantly boosts image quality while 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 3–4 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬. The model achieves state-of-the-art results for its size on ImageNet-256 and on text-to-image generation in 3 steps (1.7 B parameters).

1️⃣ From diffusion to autoregression. A general recipe that extends any distilled diffusion model into an autoregressive transformer
2️⃣ 3-4 denoising steps → photorealism. Up to 20× faster generation without sacrificing fidelity.
3️⃣ SOTA text-to-image alignment among publicly available few-step models (DiT w/ 1.7 B params).
4️⃣ SOTA ImageNet-256 FID.
