Three Libertarians filed for office in Alaska this week. Jim McDermott for U.S. House. Scott Kohlhaas for U.S. Senate. Jonathan Powell-Mark for Alaska House District 31. Alaska deserves a real alternative. We are done waiting.
Katie Zacharia cut her first White House press briefing short to board Marine One for Alaska. She called it "our historic trip." She stood behind Trump at the Menard Center in Wasilla while the venue packed out. By that night, White House officials were calling her debut "brutal." She was gone in five days.
The president flew four time zones to tell Alaskans how to vote on November 3.
Alaskans have other options. Heather McElwain is running for U.S. Senate. Jim McDermott is running for U.S. House.
In 2016, Jim McDermott debated on the Debate for the State stage. In 2022, Libertarian Chris Bye debated on the same stage. In 2026, Jim is on the ballot and asked to participate. Alaska Public Media said the debate is for candidates with a "realistic path to office."
The stage hasn't moved. The standard has.
Trump renamed Denali. Today Trump does not recognize Indigenous Peoples Day. Alaska has 229 federally recognized tribes who were here long before the feds had named anything.
Happy Indigenous People's Day, especially to the tribes of Alaska.
Vote Gold November 3rd in Alaska. Dont choose between the left or right boot marching towards socialism.

Go GOLD AK! 🤩
We literally called this the other day. Its nothing more than a press release to say "were in negotiations."
"South Korea says they have not signed off on this Alaska pipeline..."
@POTUS: "That's okay with me, I'll just charge them more... They said they didn't sign off? Tell them if they don't sign shortly, I'm gonna double it up."
AARP canceled the Alaska Senate debate because Peltola said no. Their reason: "only two viable candidates."
The two-party system doesn't just exclude us from debates. It writes the exclusion into the rules.
Statement from AARP about the cancelation of the U.S. Senate debate:
“Because there are only two viable candidates in Alaska’s U.S. Senate race and one has declined to participate, the scheduled Alaska Landmine U.S. Senate debate has been canceled. Under Federal Election Commission regulations at 11 CFR § 110.13, a candidate debate must include at least two candidates. With only one participating candidate, the event cannot proceed as a candidate debate under those regulations.”

The third option he forgot to mention: vote for someone who isn't looting you in the first place.
Gas prices, foreign wars, and $40 trillion in debt happened under both parties.
"Vote harder for the same team" isn't a strategy. It's a hostage negotiation.

AFFILIATE OF THE WEEK: ALASKA
@AlaskaLP supports keeping ranked-choice voting in Alaska.
In a 2026 resolution, the affiliate cited voter choice, ballot access, and broader participation as reasons to retain the system.

I'll take 'kakistocracy' for $500, Alex.
Bernadette Wilson has a problem with the truth. Does she actually expect anyone to believe this nonsense? And according to the to this affidavit, she has little to do with actually running Denali Disposal. She's touted her great business mind as a reason to vote for her!
The incompetent staff at APOC partially bought her nonsense. Hopefully the Commission will see though her bullshit.
