Great meeting NLP people at rstudio::conf! (soon to be #posit conf?)
Had a blast with our NLP Bof session at #RStudioConf #RStats @Uilegna @AlanFeder @GregGilderman @DavePatMaguire @Naomi_Lucille
I spoke today with
@DataSciSalon about natural language processing and machine learning in finance - and about my talk at their free (virtual) conference in 2 weeks - youtu.be/QLAkpX_UbSQ?t=58 .
If you want to attend, check it out at datascience.salon/miami/
Data science in the Sukkah!
חג שמח!

First time back in a year and a half! I missed using #rstats in a coffee shop.
#DataScience question. Does anyone know of a method to make some type of linear regression with time-varying coefficients? Is there some Bayesian (or other) method where last year's coefficient for a variable is the mean of this year's prior? #rstats #Python #stan #Bayesian
My talk from #rstudioglobal last week is online! If you missed my talk, but you're still curious about better ways to use your categorical variables, check it out! rstudio.com/resources/rstudi… #rstats #rlang #MachineLearning
Also, thanks to the moderators for the great Q&A section @hfcfrick, @juliasilge, @ledell, and @bwundervald xitter.cf/hfcfrick/status/135554… - hopefully that will be posted soon too!
Thanks @i_steves for your great talk at #rstudioglobal! Learning so much about combining SQL and R - I'm excited I don't have to type out all the column names anymore 😁

Introducing Dr. Lubkin. Congrats to @AshiraLubkin
At #rstatsnyc conference today. Tidyverse in Scratch, for use by middle-schoolers learning data science !
Thanks for a great Data Science Day @DSI_Columbia - awesome talks about data science in game theory, climate change, and the 2020 census! xitter.cf/AlanFeder/status/11135… #CUData
I will definitely start including this button instead of just emailing people both an .html file and a .Rmd file...
TIL you can embed a "code download" button in an HTML #rmarkdown doc so that users can click to download your source .Rmd from the rendered HTML version...without GitHub 🤩 #rstats

I've made this cheat sheet and I think it's important. Most stats 101 tests are simple linear models - including "non-parametric" tests. It's so simple we should only teach regression. Avoid confusing students with a zoo of named tests. lindeloev.github.io/tests-as… 1/n
At @MLconf, learning about BERT & Transformers from Emily Pitler of @GoogleAI. Best explanation of this complicated topic I've ever heard #MLConfNYC
