it's been a couple weeks since we had all 17 windows in our house replaced. It's amazing the improvement of both noise reduction and temperature control. hopefully in another year or two we will have the siding replaced with modern insulated siding to increasing both even more.

Fate you cruel mistress! I was feeling tempted to go to the record store near my office today as it was such a beautiful day but talked myself out of it as I was busy. I just found out Billy Corgan, of The Smashing Pumpkins, was at the store and I could have meet him! 😩😩

Just picked up a Intel B70 Pro to do some AI testing. With 32gb of vram I can load much larger models than my current 16gb RTX 5060ti card.

Been working on a rather large feature, took a break and had the AI get building some unit tests. Ran into an issue with some 3rd party EF sql extension not working with sqlite which we use for our unit testing. Dang AI tried to rewrite half my repo to work around the limitation

the worst part was it broke a ton of business logic in doing so... it got so focused on trying to make the tests run it was willing to destroy the code it was supposed to be testing. Add that to things you need to add to your agent.md to prevent!

"Do not modify code under test to get a unit test to work. If you discover a limitation of the testing framework, stop and alert me to the issue, do not try to fix it yourself."

Next time someone says ".NET is just for boring enterprise CRUD apps", show them TensorSharp. A full local LLM inference engine written in C#. Not a wrapper. Not calling into Python. .NET can build serious AI systems. tensorsharp.ai/ #dotnet #csharp #ai #llm

Can someone explain why no LLM creator is focusing on making a stripped down, rapidly released coding model that gets monthly releases trained in the latest technology documentation? Opus can write me an essay on George Washington, but it doesn't know dotnet 10 was released!

Imagine a model that doesn't worry about loading all the world's history but instead is stripped down to just what a coder needs. it could end up half the size of top models and run wicked fast on actual consumer grade hardware.

It seems there is very large disconnect forming between what AI models cost to run and what users are willing to spend. When I can end up paying upwards of $5-25 for a single prompt and not even get a correct response that's unacceptable.

4 small feature requests with my Squad using Github Copilot. burned up almost all my tokens in about an hour... 🀯 Based upon this, I would assume a $20+/hour burn rate to keep using Squad, which is not sustainable for side projects that don't earn profit.
