The officiating in the WNBA is simply not good enough to manage the level of talent on the floor, and that falls squarely on the WNBA front office.
The FT differential is insane. Multiple obvious missed calls, including dangerous contact that isn't even being reviewed.
There is "Let Them Play" and then there is losing control of the game because you can't keep up with what's happening on the floor.
When officials consistently miss calls, they're not allowing physical basketball. They're allowing reckless play to go unchecked.
There can't be consistency if the refs can't keep up.

I'm sorry but the fact that none of these were reviewed is criminal.
Angel Reese on back to back possessions hits Gabby in the face on offense but what is more egregious is right before that Burton takes a shot and after Angel flys by and totally takes her out.

How none of this is being reviewed or called is beyond me.
I wouldn't be hard on Angel here if what she did in the last Liberty game didn't also get overlooked.
Intentional or not this is willfully reckless play that should be drawing Flagrants and the officials are just ignoring it.

Caitlin has never been injured until she started playing under Stephanie White. We ended up turning into the hospital fever. Aliyah was injured all year and only now we know. The front office did the same thing with cc. They hid the injury all year. And everyone just had to speculate the entire time. The front office and coach all need to be fired. This is this is complete malpractice.

Funny how the WNBA and its loudest voices love preaching about protecting Black women, equality, sisterhood, and accountability. But where was that SAME ENERGY when Dearica Hamby accused the Las Vegas Aces of PREGNANCY DISCRIMINATION????
Hamby alleged that Becky Hammon questioned her about birth control, challenged her commitment to basketball, and that she was eventually traded because she was PREGNANT!
And here’s the kicker: THE WNBA ACTUALLY INVESTIGATED AND FOUND THAT HAMMON VIOLATED WORKPLACE POLICIES!
HER PUNISHMENT? A PATHETIC TWO-GAME SUSPENSION!
TWO DAMN GAMES!!!
Where were the national conversations? Where was the sustained outrage? Where were all the speeches about protecting Black women?
And where was A’ja Wilson’s public advocacy for her former teammate?
I’m not accusing Wilson of wrongdoing. I’m questioning why the league’s biggest personalities weren’t louder about a scandal involving one of their own!

Two episodes of season 2 of Sold a Story have been released so far. Listened to both this morning.
One opponent of Direct Instruction was recorded at the time as saying the method is “totalitarian” and “awful.”
This, about an instructional method that was teaching pre-schoolers algebra.
In my quoted post, I was only slightly tongue in cheek, but it’s largely true: Direct Instruction is the most effective method of instruction we know of, but it makes teachers feel yucky because they have to work from scripts and tell kids what to learn instead of allowing them to discover it on their own, so is not used in schools.
Generations of kids, failed by bunk instructional methods because of the ill-conceived Romantic notions of well-meaning but emotionally stunted adults.
My actual worry about the show is that it will not be harsh enough. But that’s what I’m here for.
