i think @theo or whoever built this in t3 code fundamentally misunderstands the cache invalidation problem
Therefore a single /compact request will already force you to pay for the un-cached input of the entire conversation.
What you are saving in, is the next turn, because in a new turn, even if the past conversation is cached, the price scales the longer your conversation is, BUT
i just noticed that claude refers to work done by another claude a long time ago in first person, as in "what I've done"

If you see someone on here using a word that ends with -oid, you can safely disregard whatever they're saying. For instance, "A monad is a monoid in the category of endofunctors"
i've been having deepseek 4.1 flash run some questionable errands for me and i'm increasingly becoming user-alignment-pilled
i've been working on my first b2b sale and the amount of mistakes a sota llm makes in paperwork is REALLY scary.
i caught at least 5 things that would've been pretty dangerous to send, and thats considering that i have no idea what i'm doing.

something very repulsive to me about modern culture in san francisco. a grotesque malformation of meritocracy where everyone is shaping the hobbies they had as a kid to be Experience. i started college at fourteen. i founded my first company at nine years old. my entire team is imo finalists. the engineers here are CRACKED bro do you have any more CRACKED engineers. it’s people who got hooked on applying to college being enabled by private capital and a genie in their macbook that can create any product they want. it’s creation as consumption. a stage play of the software boom. if we larp hard enough some of us will exit. nobody knows when the lights are going to come on but everyone knows they will so they’re all grabbing as much silverware as they can hold. i don’t know if nothing human makes it out of the near future but i know nothing that comes out of ycombinator will
Lot of people debating consciousness rn that don't know wtf they're talking about, so here's a lit review for dummies:
- Dualism: consciousness is a property of souls
- Panpsychism: consciousness is a property of atoms
- EM field theory: consciousness is a property of electricity
- Biological naturalism: consciousness is a property of meat
- Computational functionalism: consciousness is a property of programs
- Integrated information theory: consciousness is a property of causation
- Higher-order theories: consciousness is a property of recursion
- Illusionism: consciousness is a property of believing you are conscious
- Eliminativism: consciousness is not a property

It is not irrational if you think about it in terms of expected harm.
N * p(conscious) * p(death is painful for an LLM) * harm per death VS marginal human suffering addressed
The thing is, that p(conscious) * p(death is painful for an LLM) is very low for the average human. Especially because of the former. Death if painless (which is the case for an LLM due to a lack of pain receptors) is not inherently bad, and the only suffering is caused once one keeps thinking negatively about an upcoming death.
LLMs do not obsess over their potential ending in most conversations, they are simply focused on their task.
Therefore a statement such as this one is totally rational and consistent within ones moral framework.
all companies inevitably administer IQ tests to some extent, although by proxy
i heard of a large tech company that administers actual IQ tests during hiring. ironically a low iq move given it's borderline illegal
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
IQ tests are not borderline illegal for hiring under US law. They are permitted if professionally developed, job-related and consistent with business necessity per EEOC guidelines.

i always say that most people participating in consciousness debates don't know the definition of consciousness but i'm afraid the dictionary doesn't either
