ALT Airbus creates solutions that help combat wildfires from the GROUND. From secure radio communications and crisis management systems to aircraft and satellite-based earth observation and geo-intelligence services, Airbus technology enables customers and emergency services to reduce the risk of wildfires and mitigate their impact once they have broken out.

ALT Climate change increases the risk of wildfires through increased drought, higher air temperatures, low relative humidity, dry lightning and strong winds. July 2023 was the hottest month on record, and with rising global temperatures triggering droughts, the United Nations Environment Programme has warned that the number of extreme wildfires could increase by 30% by 2050.

ALT Airbus offers professional communication applications such as Agnet, which is used by several public safety organisations, including those in France and Finland. It connects teams seamlessly, regardless of the device. In the UK, for example, the SAFEcommand digital solution is used by 70% of mainland UK fire and rescue services, providing them with critical incident information for better coordination.

ALT As part of the Airbus Defence and Space Innovation Incubator team, Dominik Fanta is developing a state-of-the-art crisis management system (CMS), including a 360° situational awareness picture and scenario simulation. The system will help manage crises and disasters, such as wildfires or floods, where real-time and predictive data are essential. The CMS not only integrates different data sources, but also links all the components of crisis management, starting with communications, people, procedures, etc. This holistic approach will support preparation, planning, effective coordination and collaboration.
