Dear friends,
We now have it in black and white: the so-called prosecutor in Bijeljina has asked the Zvornik police - the police in the town that is itself the largest mass grave in Europe - to enter the Srebrenica Memorial Center and seize documents.
In recent months and weeks, both my staff and I have been subjected to police harassment, mistreatment and discrimination. We are now facing the threat of armed, masked men entering the Memorial Center and ransacking the premises. The document below is a letter from the so-called prosecutor in Bijeljina to our lawyers, confirming what I have been warning about.
Let me be absolutely clear: we will not cooperate with the Bosnian Serb police and/or prosecutor. Anything they want from the Srebrenica Memorial Center, they will have to take by force.

The only regrettable thing in this entire affair is that @vonderleyen refuses to call things by their rightful name.
Five Serbian government ministers attended. Serbian soldiers stood guard over his coffin. His body was transported in a Serbian government aircraft, under the Serbian state flag.
If this is not state involvement, what is?
In any case, we will remember who stood with us and who looked away. We will especially remember it the next time an EU official asks to visit @SrebrenicaMC.
We have had enough of people paying lip service to the victims while proceeding to shake hands with politicians dreaming of future genocides.
The images from Ratko Mladić’s funeral yesterday in Belgrade were shocking.
Ratko Mladić was a convicted war criminal. He was responsible for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. He died while serving a life sentence for the Srebrenica genocide and other crimes.
The elements of official support and the presence of some senior Serbian officials at the funeral are deeply regrettable. They demonstrate a failure to confront a dark chapter in Europe’s recent history and contradict the values underpinning Serbia’s path towards the European Union.
Our thoughts are with all the victims of the crimes committed in the countries of former Yugoslavia.

I received dozens of phone calls yesterday. Friends called. Fellow survivors called. Journalists called. And the simple fact is: I don’t know what to say about, or care to comment on, the abomination that died yesterday in the UN detention unit in Scheveningen.
Instead, I helped my daughters make “jewellery” out of little bits and bobs. We did some bedtime reading. I put them both to sleep. My life has moved on. My children will not grow up in the same shadows I did.
And the next time someone like Ratko Mladić appears on the horizon - and he will without a doubt - we will wait for no one’s permission to confront him. We will know what we are looking at. We will know what is at stake. And we will deal with it ourselves.

One of the world's most brutal murderers is finally dead.
At 84 years old the former Bosnian Serb general, Ratko Mladić lived way longer than he allowed his tens of thousands of victims.
The more than 7000 Muslim men and boys he had slaughtered in Srebrenica will be his enduring shame.
At least he was tried by an International Criminal Tribunal and found guilty of his enormous crimes of genocide.
I am proud of the work we journalists did in the 90s to document his crimes against humanity, to finally hold him accountable.

Encrypted messages obtained by reporters show the former head of Serbia’s football association Slaviša Kokeza sought to organize a campaign of intimidation and violence against retired footballer Nemanja Vidić and other former players after they had criticized his leadership.

Opet se ponovilo: tragedija i loše stvari nas ujedine. Duboko vjerujem možemo biti solidarni i jedinstveni i bez toga.
Svi klubovi stranaka u Predstavničkom domu Parlamenta BiH zajednički su potpisali zaključke u vezi borbe protiv nasilja u porodici i slučajeva femicida.
Hvala svim klubovima koji su podržali moju inicijativu da danas govorimo o ovoj važnoj temi i spremnosti da djelujemo zajedno.

The next: "it never happened." Don't trust the cloud.
Paraphrasing Orwell, Assange explains that he who controls today's internet servers controls the intellectual record of mankind.
He warns us that Western governments, large corporations, and certain wealthy individuals are increasingly able and increasingly trying to remove material permanently from the historical record using sophisticated methods.

In a new report, HRW finds that the implementation and oversight of the EU regulatory framework governing export of surveillance technologies has serious flaws, resulting in the technology being sold to those who have previously used it in violation of international human rights and humanitarian law. 🧵⤵️
