Great afternoon out at another apiary with our beekeepers. Many thanks to Paul’s Parcels Shotts for hosting us!
Interesting morning at the bees. We have a healthy hive which used to look like it was struggling and a struggling hive which used to look like it was healthy. The healthy hive was angry and the struggling one was serene. Mr O’D in recovery, kids all fine 😂 Here are some pics
The bees need summer visits too. Nathan and Ciara came in last week to do the necessary work and it’s very much a weekly thing. Thanks to both for their keen attitude- hopefully our split has worked too!

Very productive day at our beekeeping club. We insulated round the hives using loft fur and bubble wrap and changed the feed. Finally, 3 girls away with wax cappings to prepare them for candle making next week. Top jobs done.
Great wee group of Geographers and travel students out exploring a very ‘atmospheric’ (wet & windy) Glasgow today. Outcomes for travel pass and fieldwork for Higher/N5 geo assignment done.
Winter work for the bee club insulating our hives. Welcome to our new members and thank you to our established core for leading learning at the hives. Fantastic wee group.
