Couldn’t believe my luck when I was chosen for this! 🙌 Was a bit nervous ahead of my session but @kirstylogan was really easy to talk to and her insight/guidance was invaluable. ☺️ So appreciative to her for giving up her time and expertise to help me. ❤️ #WritingCommunity

Hearing Ela Lee read from her debut novel on the ⁦@PrimadonnaFest⁩ stage gave me chills…then I began binge-listening on audible and couldn’t stop! Thoroughly neglected my work, friends and family and finished in record time 😅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ audible.co.uk/pd/B0CB45BFJ3?…

Is it Time to stop calling it “domestic abuse” or “violence against women & girls”? It’s MALE VIOLENCE When we identify the perpetrator rather than just the victim, we have a chance of eliminating it because we focus on the cause & not only it’s effect

Ad in The Metro yesterday claimed ‘Success is… making the school run, the morning run and your first meeting by 9am.’ The images were of a woman; a gorgeous woman who had also, presumably, found time to shower and do her hair/full make-up before 9am. 1/5

OFFICIALLY start work: 09:00 🫠 Listen, I love how flexible working has widened employment options for mums (and a big YAY for supportive partners! 🥳) But I’ve had mornings like this. They aren’t my definition of success. Yet the messaging is insidious. #EverydaySexism 5/5

Today marks 7 years since the Grenfell Tower fire, so we remember all those who lost their lives and stand by those impacted by that tragic night. Our Support Line remains open on 0800 389 8820 should any members of the fire services community across the UK feel the need to talk.

I don’t know whether to shout or cry… either way, I’m despairing 🤬😭
“It’s an energy that we’re talking about, not just a social status. It’s been tough if you’re from a working-class area. You grow up with a different understanding of the world than if you’ve never struggled with money. That energy is so powerful. theguardian.com/tv-and-radio…

Securing a place on #WriteNow (2020) kickstarted my writing adventure. 😊 At last count, @PenguinUKBooks has published 20 debut authors through this scheme… and many more of the alumni have found publication success elsewhere. What have you got to lose? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Good luck! 🍀
#WriteNow is back! 🥳 Our programme to give writers from under-represented backgrounds in publishing the tools, information and access needed to navigate the book industry. Find out more and apply by Sunday 16 June 👉 bit.ly/4aCF8qJ

Yesterday, I had my best @PrimadonnaFest moment yet - basking in the reflected glory of @preetikdhillon (from the #WriteNow 2020 gang) as she took centre stage to talk about her brilliant debut 😍 The book’s out in September! 👍

Was privileged to be one of the early readers for this and can’t wait to read the final version! Lucy’s writing is insanely good, and she could not be better placed to deliver on this intriguing and inspiring subject matter 🔥
Six weeks today until you can hold The Exiled in your hands - and here's its beautiful cover! I'm so pleased to have been able to use a colour photo, rather than a black and white one, which can make our recent history feel further away. More here! hachette.co.uk/titles/lucy-f…

In the late 2000s, whenever I could, I’d spend the weekend at my parents’ to escape my unhappy marriage. The 5 hour drive back to London on Sunday evening, knowing what I was heading back to, was made that bit more bearable by Paul and Malcolm on BBC Radio 2. #RIPPaulOGrady 💔
Rest in peace Paul O’Grady. You will be forever loved, always missed and never forgotten. Sending love to your family, friends and fans. #PaulOGrady
