Four human skills that matter more than ever:
→ Critical thinking
→ First-principles thinking
→ Judgment
→ Taste
And you already have them.

Excalidraw CLI released!
Log in to your Excalidraw+ account or use with local files.
You can easily render Excalidraw diagrams to give better output feedback to your agents.
Install today.
Really disappointed that the new GPT Live can’t create artifacts from voice chats yet. Feels like such an obvious workflow. Anyone know when that’s coming? @OpenAI
New Claude projects wipe out a lot and leave a feeling of disconnect between different chats and tasks. No voice in projects also seems stupid.

We'll be spending a lot more time trying to understand the outputs of language models. A few thoughts, tips & tricks:
Writing. Something I've had success with: Ask your LLM to explain something in ASD-STE100, it's a controlled language specification originally developed for aerospace maintenance documentation. LLMs well-versed in this language and it comes with heavy constraints on clean writing style that I often find a lot more readable. Sometimes I've tried to soften it a bit e.g. ask for "80% of the way to ASD-STE100" because the spec is quite stringent. But even better:
Diagrams / images. Instead of writing, ask your LLM to create a diagram. These can be a lot easier to process, parse, and understand. But even better:
Web pages. Ask for output "in HTML" to get a beautiful, interactive webpage. LLMs are getting really good at frontend and can create beautiful experiences, animations, etc. But even better:
Explainer videos. The output format I am most bullish on is fully custom / bespoke explainer videos generated on any arbitrary topic. Experiment with things like "Create a 3b1b style video explainer on X. Use my ElevenLabs API key for audio narration". (you'd need an API key for the latter or you can ask your LLM to find you decent free alternatives that use your local compute). This is actually starting to work!
In summary:
- As LLMs get better, they will do more and more of the legwork autonomously, and a lot more of our work will rise up the abstractions into oversight and understanding.
- Luckily, LLMs can help here too because as intelligence and code are increasingly abundant, you can ask for large, custom, discardable software artifacts (e.g. web apps, video explainers) that would have never made sense to create before. Push the boundaries here and you'll be surprised.
A stark reminder that how we push forward matters just as much as how fast we move.
I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude. There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.

Jev by @typesafeai is free on Vercel AI Gateway until Sept 25.
Build with the fastest adopted model on the Gateway at no cost.

Jev was adopted faster than any other model in AI Gateway history.
In the first day, @typesafeai reached ~13% of teams, 2x the GPT-5.6 family and 6x Fable 5.1.

Thinking about creating a /pr skill. You invoke it to create a PR that:
- Makes human review as fast and as simple as possible
- Takes the best parts of /show-me by @dexhorthy
- Uses your domain language (from /grill-with-docs)
- Shows evidence that the change works (images, test output etc)
- Assesses merge risk (is it a one-way door, or a two-way door?)
IMO every model/harness I've seen creates garbage PR bodies - needs a skill here.
WDYT?

Phone away. Best friend time. 🐾💛
Tip 5: phone in your pocket, headphones at home. Enjoy the walk together.
Be honest: do you chat to your dog?

We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.

The easiest way to find out which models you can run on your computer:
Just run:
- 𝗻𝗽𝗺 𝗶 -𝗴 @𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘃/𝗰𝗹𝗶
- 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽
It profiles your machine and ranks the models across:
- Speed
- Accuracy
- Intelligence
- Memory required
Finally, you can choose your favorite harness (Pi, OpenCode, Claude Code, Codex, etc.) to run with it.

(don't forget to star 🌟)
I also wrote a detailed article on running your favorite harnesses with local models. The article is quoted below.

Anyone that works in AI is working the hardest they've ever worked in their lives. On the surface it's somewhat ironic (AI should give us back time!), but the reality is that it's the most fun, fascinating and empowering epoch in human history. The intelligence revolution.

You already know the foundations of integration. MCP gives you a new way to apply them. 🧩
In this episode of Architect Insights, Scott Ratliff, Principal Architect Evangelist, breaks down where Model Context Protocol fits into modern AI architecture, how it powers agentic experiences, and how it compares to traditional system-to-system integrations.

Today we're launching one of the most exciting ground up innovations in the agent landscape: Kiro Crew! What started as a side project inside @amazon (known as Meshclaw) grew into something tens of thousands of builders across the company relied on daily. It's now open source for everyone.
@kirodotdev Crew is a persistent, self-evolving workspace that keeps work moving, online or off. It's built for engineering work that goes beyond a single chat session, and spans repos, tools, and days. Kiro Crew remembers your project context and history across sessions, turns your corrections into durable lessons and reusable skills, and keeps recurring jobs running on schedules you set. Devs can run several efforts in parallel or hand work to subagents that report back, so nothing waits in line.
Hundreds of contributors shared feedback with us, helping make this launch possible. See how you can build your crew: kiro.dev/crew/
