NEW: Los Angeles County elections officials confirm in court filing that they have no way to verify U.S. citizenship for voters and they rely solely on a voter’s attestation when they check yes or no to being a U.S. citizen under penalty of perjury. This is part of ongoing lawsuit w/ Feds.
Massive concession: Los Angeles election officials just told a federal court they have no independent way to verify citizenship beyond what voters attest. (They simply take their word for it.) Under federal law, only citizens may vote in federal elections. Yet California has not acted on the list of 20,000 suspected noncitizens or agreed to set aside their ballots. American citizens’ votes are being diluted in California.

The far left violent radicals are fine with you being raped and your business and/or home being destroyed. This is the price for revolution.
A French woman says that the rioters and looters broke into her building and threatened her with rape while she was holding her child in her arms.
“That’s collateral damage” responds the feminist activist Bettina Zourli who holds a Master’s in gender studies and focuses her work on gender norms, motherhood, reproductive rights, and voluntary childlessness (“childfree”)
She describes herself as “feminist, childfree and Antifa”
Zourli also says that all the stores getting looted also constitute a case of collateral damage and that the revolution, which she supports, must be violent.
She has lectured in gender studies, including at the University of Lille and Université Rennes.

You heard it here first, but in case you wanted confirmation, the French Interior Ministry has reported 2,397 arrests during the riots. 90% were between 18 and 30 years old.
A police union official says the arrestees were a mixture of looters from "sensitive areas" (a French euphemism for heavily migrant-background areas) and "black bloc" anarchists who specifically sought confrontations with police.
The police union official adds that even though many of the rioters have been charged with assaulting an officer, a crime which can carry a sentence of up to 7 years, they will all receive "light" sentences (he uses the English word!), as is the custom in French courts.

Luckily, democrats are working very hard to save us from the fascism of fewer students per teacher, lower rents and higher wages.
.@POTUS on Ilhan Omar: "I think she's a sick, very dishonest person who hates our country — and she comes from a country that is essentially not even a country, Somalia. It's a real shithouse."
The Grievance Studies Hoax continues, by serious people with zero self-awareness.
🚨New genders just dropped: Sistergirl and Brotherboy
A new peer-reviewed paper claims that we must redefine sex, sexuality, and gender in order to "decolonize" health and "unsettl[e] Western biomedical norms" in service of the "LGBTQA+SB" community,
From what I can tell, a Sistergirl is just a man who takes on the role and identity of a woman, and a Brotherboy is a woman who takes on the role and identity of a man. Nothing too unique going on here.
The paper gives no specifics on how sex, sexuality, or gender should be redefined, but claims that "colonial influence manifests in data collection through adherence to a medical norm of male/female bodies."
So "male" and "female" seem to be on the chopping block.
The authors describe themselves as "a queer Yamatji person, a Wiradjuri trans fulla, a Wakka Wakka Brotherboy, a trans Ngarrindjeri man, a queer Gunditjmara woman and a trans Murri."
What did they have when they promised freedom of speech and of the press?
Is that a ... microphone he's holding? How many are looking at this post on phones or computers?
Unless it's a duly elected president of the opposition party. Then it's okay to weaponize the DOJ and the intelligence agencies against them.
You can't make a 'defending democracy' omelet without breaking the eggs of democracy, right?
It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

If true, would be a great validation of @xenocosmography’s admonition to some overly-enthusiastic right-wingers that they should never become so racist that they forget that white liberals are the worst people on earth.

The reason nice neighborhoods are nice is because they're full of nice people.
Using longitudinal data, we can see that they don't make people nice: moving into good or bad neighborhoods doesn't affect the risk of criminal offending.
But bad people tend to live in bad places.

The battered Fortress was a wreck, nose blown open, gauges gone, shrapnel everywhere. Yet the pilot fought to keep her in the air. Somehow, through skill, determination, & sheer willpower, he nursed the heavily damaged bomber all the way back to England. 🏴
