Our 20th stop was in Martin Co MN. This area just caught a nice big rain really helping crop conditions improve. Farmer was expecting a record crop this year after this rain. Samples we pulled were impressive around 250 bushels. Overall Martin county with a good finish to year can test record yields. #OATT #CORN

5th stop on the Northern Crop tour is Moody Co South Dakota. 198 yield expected. Did 240 last year. 220 year before. 6.86 inches since planting. Dry going in. Only 8 for the year. Good field for the area.  13.5 is 10 year average. 1840 gdu so far. 108 day corn which is big for area. Moody county. Go west a little better. Go east it’s so dry. North is better. South better. #Corn #OATT

Our 19th stop was in Kossuth Co IA. This area has missed out on some of the bigger rains and was showing signs of getting dry. Although samples pulled were strong, farmer was expecting somewhere around average which is 220. Samples we pulled ranged from 220-250. Overall this area should do well this year with key rains going forward. #OATT #CORN

4th stop North tour was Codington Co, SD. Crops become more consistent the farther east you go, thanks to more timely rainfall. Some heat stress during pollination is evident, but overall the crop looks excellent across northeast SD. A county average of 190–200 bu/a is attainable, with consistent stands and ear size driving strong yields. #OATT #Corn

3rd stop North tour was Beadle/Spink Co SD: Rainfall variability has created wide differences in yield potential this season. Recent rains have helped during grain fill, with yield checks ranging from 130–200 bu. Soil type differences are very evident, and the area still has potential to average around 170 bu. #OATT #Corn

2nd stop North Tour was in Nobles Co Mn. A typically consistent area is showing much more variability. Cool, dry weather after planting created uneven stands. Fields with higher fertility and better soils are proving more resilient than those on marginal ground. Current estimate: 200 bu, roughly 20–30 bushels below last year's record crop. #OATT #Corn

First Stop of the Northern Crop Tour was in Rock co MN. Conditions have been much more variable than we've seen in recent years. Cool, dry conditions after planting led to some spotty stands, and the extended hot, dry stretch after pollination has added stress across many fields. Still see solid potential if crop can receive some timely rains during grain fill. Estimate 20-30 bu less this year for Rock co. #OATT #Corn

Our 18th stop was Blackhawk Co Iowa. They’ve received 140% of typical rainfall over the last 90 days, though it was very well balanced across the period. Samples we pulled tested over 280 bu/ac. Farmers in the area expect their crops to be near 10 bushels better than last year - in large part to the low disease pressure this year compared to last year. #OATT #CropTour

Our 17th stop was in Cedar Co Iowa. Samples we pulled were the most impressive of this tour so far. Farmer said they have received plenty of rain. Conditions overall look real solid. Cedar county did 215 last year, corn crop took a hit early with too much rain, but the dryness and heat has helped the crop make a comeback. Should be similar to last years yield around a 210-220. #OATT #Corn

16th stop was in Mercer Co, IL. This spot in IL didn’t seem to show excess rain stress like previous stops in IL. Farmer was pretty optimistic on crop and was thinking better than last year. Samples pulled were strong and showed yields ranging from 215-235. This county performed well last year and expect the same this year. #oatt #corn

15th stop was La Salle Co Illinois. Corn is in fair to good condition. County has received 175% of normal rainfall in the last 60 days and crop conditions definitely reflect that in the low spots. Last year County did 220 bu we expect to see 10-20 bu less this year. #OATT #Corn

14th stop was in Iroquois Co IL. Crop conditions were fair showing a tad more excess water stress. Samples we pulled were solid, and showed yields ranging from 200-220. Did see some signs of disease pressure but was minimal. Last yr this county did around 230, will be below that this year. #OATT #CORN

13th stop was in White Co, Indiana. Yield estimates indicated a 180-210 yield. Crop has recovered well from early moisture pressure. Crop in great condition, but should not expect yield at last years record level. Moisture early on put a damper on the samples we pulled. #OATT #Corn
