Today, on International Day of the Girl Child, we recognize the rights, voices, and leadership of girls around the world—and acknowledge the barriers that continue to affect Indigenous girls in Canada, including the lasting impacts of colonialism and systemic inequities. On this day, we honour the strength and resilience of Indigenous girls who continue to inspire change within their communities and across the country.
