#ABF #ABF2026 #AbidjanBorderForum cc @CnfciC @SCnfci

The Borderless Africa Feminist Question @AfroBorderless Did you know, that a border is never just a line on a map. It can determine who earns a living, who moves freely, who is recognised, and who is left behind. #BorderlessAfrica #Feminist4BorderlessAfrica

What does it really mean to build a movement for liberation? In Nairobi, Kenya, Africans Rising’s Movement Building and Support Lead, Ancel Langwa, joined 167 participants from 37 countries across Africa and the diaspora for the Afro International Feminist Organizing School (AFRO IFOS). The School created space for political education, collective reflection, movement practice and exchange, exploring questions of power, systems of oppression, decolonisation, care, facilitation and how movements can build the collective power needed for transformation. In this new reflection, @langwaancel shares some of the lessons from the School and considers what they mean for movement building within Africans Rising, including the work to support African movements to embed feminist principles in their organising through the Engendering African Social Movements (EASM) programme. A truly borderless Africa must be able to answer not only “Can you cross?” but also: What happens when you cross? What does it cost? How are you treated? And whose story gets heard? #Feminist4BorderlessAfrica #AfricansRising #BorderlessAfrica @AfroBorderless

Free movement is ultimately experienced at the border, not in AU conference rooms. That means the campaign has to pay attention to the institutions, policies and officials that determine who moves, who trades, who waits and who gets excluded. @AfroBorderless #Feminist4BorderlessAfrica

The #AfCFTA is advancing Africa’s journey towards an integrated continental market. “We’ve got to start with the basics, and that is to enable goods, services, people to move seamlessly across the borders, to enable the competitiveness of our private sector, in particular SMEs. This is a very, very ambitious task, but entirely achievable.”
