"المساليت لن يعودوا إلى ديارهم:
التطهير العرقي والجرائم ضد الإنسانية في الجنينة، غرب دارفور، السودان"، على المدى المدمر للعنف، بما في ذلك الأنماط المتسقة مع الاختفاء القسري.
لا ينتهي الاختفاء القسري بمجرد اختفاء الشخص. فخلف كل حالة إنسان حقيقي، وأسرة، ومجتمع تستمر معاناته ما دام مصير الشخص المختفي مجهولاً.

Enforced disappearance does not end with the disappearance of a person. Behind every case is a real person, a family and a community whose suffering continues for as long as their fate remains unknown.

ليس كل مفقود مختفياً قسرياً. في السودان، يواجه المختفون وأسرهم تحديات تعيق الوصول إلى الحقيقة

Not every missing person is forcibly disappeared. In Sudan, the disappeared and their families face challenges that hinder access to the truth.

On September 25, 2026, the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, alongside the Global Accountability Network, NRF South African Research Chair in International Law, Public International Law and Policy Group, African Center for Justice and Peace Studies, Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa, and American Society of International Law, hosted a roundtable discussion on the humanitarian response to the crisis in Sudan.
Panelists highlighted the urgent challenges facing aid workers, including funding shortfalls, access restrictions, and the need for greater international support. They also emphasized the vital role of local actors, particularly Emergency Response Rooms (ERRs) and women-led organizations, in delivering life-saving assistance.
As moderator Mutasim Ali noted:
“We cannot continue to demand more from Sudan's humanitarians while providing them with less protection, less funding, less political support, and less international attention.”

This roundtable will bring together key stakeholders to confront these operational threats, identify critical protection gaps, and forge actionable strategies to safeguard aid workers on the ground.
As the war in Sudan drags on through its fourth year, this expert roundtable will look at:
1. Why Sudan’s massive humanitarian crisis continues to be overlooked and underfunded globally;
2. How aid agencies can balance maintaining access to populations with reporting human rights violations;
3. What Sudan's humanitarian aid will look like without immediate, significant intervention, and what can be done. We hope you can join us.
