What former SNSC Secretary Ali Shamkhani offers to NBC here is nothing more than the #Iran JCPOA. And the Trump administration should say that's just not going to cut it.

Spoke with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul in Antalya about working together to strengthen NATO’s ability to deter and defend against any threat. I emphasized that NATO is only as strong and capable as all 32 Allies make it.

This week, I had constructive conversations with both President Tshisekedi and President Kagame as we work to secure a path to peace. We have provided the first draft of a peace agreement to both sides and will work with the parties to iterate on the agreement to reach consensus. Resolving long-standing differences is hard work, and we are committed to seeing this through. We look forward to further engagement to come to a resolution.

The time is now. Allies need to give more to make @NATO stronger.
In my meeting with @SecGenNATO Rutte, we charted a new course for increased defense spending and production. To better protect our Alliance: Defense production must rise, military readiness must improve, and burden sharing must be real.
Looking forward to determining NATO’s path to 5% at the Hague Summit in June.

🔴 ELIMINATED: Jasser Hussein Ali Shamieh, a Hamas terrorist responsible for raising funds for Hamas' military wing and former battalion commander in Hamas' Gaza Brigade, was eliminated in a joint IDF and ISA strike in Gaza City.
Shamieh was responsible for the transfer of tens of millions of dollars to Hamas' military wing, thus reinforcing the military wing, funding terrorists and enabling continued combat and the presence of Hamas in northern Gaza.

This should send a warning shot to #Iran's regime which is under the impression it can ink a JCPOA-like deal with the U.S. whereby Tehran continues to enrich uranium and that this will be durable. Every Republican U.S. Senator--with the exception of Rand Paul--and 177 House Republicans just signed onto a letter urging President Trump to demand that Tehran must permanently give up any capacity for enrichment as a part of any deal.

Treasury is working with our colleagues at the State Department and National Security Council to execute the President’s direction on Syria sanctions. We look forward to implementing the necessary authorizations that would be critical to bringing new investment into Syria. Treasury's actions can help rebuild Syria's economy, financial sector, and infrastructure and could put the country on a path to a bright, prosperous, and stable future.
