At SmallSat 2026, Dr. Jeffrey Parker, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, gave a flash talk on how we navigate ESCAPADE's loiter phase.
The twin spacecraft launched on Blue Origin's New Glenn, but they did not head straight for the Red Planet. Instead, they settled into a loiter phase, holding in an orbit near Earth for about a year until the planets line up this November. Then they swing past Earth, fire their engines, and set course for Mars.
