I’ve been thinking—there are so many satellites now, and the number you’ve planned represents a significant portion of the total. What if they collide?

Safety is of utmost importance if the plan is to have millions of these satellites around the world
Elon Musk explains how Starlink works — several 1000 satellites in low Earth orbit (550 kms) and they're moving around 25 times the speed of sound in these zipping around the Earth, with laser links between satellites for resilience

SpaceX is number 1 in the world with Satellites and safety is the greatest concern for them
🚩Why SpaceX Dominates Space • ~165–170 launches projected in 2025 • ~82% share of the commercial launch market • ~80–90% of global upmass delivered to orbit • ~10,359 operational Starlink satellites (≈66% of all active satellites worldwide) • 20–28× booster reuse (same booster flies repeatedly) • Lowest cost to orbit: $2,700–$7,000/kg (rideshare) • 82% overall launch market share (rest of world combined ≈18%) • Only company with the full vertical stack: builds, launches, deploys, and operates everything 🚩Why SpaceX Wins AI in Space • Massive launch scale with Starship: 100–200+ tonnes of reusable payload per flight • Driving launch costs toward <$100/kg target, far below what competitors can achieve • Orbital data centers: compute satellites benefit from unlimited solar power and radiative cooling in vacuum • Starlink laser mesh already deployed in orbit: provides high-bandwidth, low-latency inter-satellite networking • Low-latency, distributed AI compute delivered to Earth users from orbit • Only company building the entire orbital compute stack (rockets, satellites, terminals, and global network)

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI: “You don’t need to write prompts anymore.” In just 27 minutes, he explains how to use ChatGPT in ways most people haven’t even explored yet. This was a talk he gave to Stanford students. A friend sent me the recording last night. After watching it, I realized I was barely using 15% of what ChatGPT can actually do. Watch the full talk, then check out the guide below on how to build a system that can prompt itself.

Elon Musk: “My essential philosophy is curiosity. I’d like to understand the meaning of life — is the Standard Model of physics correct? The beginning of life, the beginning of existence, and the end of the universe. What questions do we not know to ask, that we should ask? AI will help us with these things. I’m trying to understand how do we get here, what’s going on, what’s real. Are there aliens? Maybe there are. If we’ve got spaceships traveling to other star systems, we may encounter aliens, or find many long-dead alien civilizations. I just want to know what’s going on. I’m curious about the universe — that’s my philosophy.”

I spent some time with friends recently, and one of them vocally resented the money being spent on space flight, with some heat and emotion. (They most assuredly also had political objections that colored their view of Elon and SpaceX, to be sure.) I didn't try to defend it in that moment, but I wish I had a way to express the joy and wonder of man's ability to fly a skyscraper around the world and land it on a patch of the Indian ocean where cameras were waiting to record the end of its journey. There is nothing we do as humans more impressive than that. And eventually catching an orbital spaceship? Magnificent!

🚀 Tesla Roadster in Space Update! The Tesla Roadster first rolled off the production line back in 2008 — the very first electric sports car from Tesla. And guess what? One of those original 2008 Roadsters is STILL out there… floating in an elliptical heliocentric orbit around the Sun, crossing the orbit of Mars! Starman has been cruising for over 7 years now, living his best life in deep space. Here’s the epic video of the Falcon Heavy launch + Starman waving goodbye from the Roadster! Who else thinks this is the coolest Tesla ever? 🔥
