Before I kayaked the Northwest Passage, adventure was not going so well for me. I didn't succeed by becoming more "hardcore", I succeeded by changing my idea of success, letting go of the outcome and focusing on the inherent joy of being on adventure.

Media is a feedback loop: my beat existed because readers were interested enough to followed adventure sport, and adventure sport was interesting because the media covered it.
That loop was started by Ronnie, pioneering adventure in the mainstream media.
