Wrapped the Buja LN Bootcamp 🇧🇮 and I’m genuinely proud.
Bitcoin fundamentals → real LN builds → pitching working projects.
From “questions” to “ideas shipped” : that’s why we do this.
Respect to @heyolaniran, and to the team behind the scenes @_Satoshee & @Ladyyyy_lo .
Our Lightning Developer Bootcamp in Bujumbura, Burundi 🇧🇮 is officially a wrap and what an incredible week it has been.
Over five days, participants journeyed from Bitcoin fundamentals, the history of money, cryptographic signatures, transactions, and the blockchain, all the way to building and testing real projects on the Lightning Network. Today, they pitched those projects to the room. Watching developers who started the week with questions end it with working ideas is exactly why we run these bootcamps.
A huge shoutout to our instructors, @heyolaniran and @advaxeir. You didn’t just teach, you inspired. The depth, clarity, and energy you brought to every session shaped the entire experience. Thank you both.
To our executing team, @_Satoshee and @Ladyyyy_lo, thank you for the countless behind the scenes efforts that made this bootcamp possible. These events only succeed because of people like you.
A special thank you to @belyi_nobel, @Barakana_GE, and the @bitdevsgtga team for inviting us to Burundi, welcoming us so warmly, and supporting the local ground planning. Your community’s passion for Bitcoin education is truly inspiring, and this definitely won’t be our last time here.
And to our sponsors and partners who continue to make this mission possible, @btrustteam, @HRF, @Tether_Africa, @afribitcoiners, @planb_network, and @freetechite, thank you. Your support is what transforms an idea into five days of hands on Bitcoin education across Africa.
The Lightning Network is growing across this continent. One city, one bootcamp, one developer at a time.
Next stop: Kisumu, Kenya 🇰🇪

We are thrilled to announce Ralph Osaze Eyerin @raphael_eyerin as one of the speakers at the Africa Bitcoin Conference in Blantyre, Malawi.
He has been working in the Bitcoin ecosystem for the past five years, exploring the technology, infrastructure, and economic opportunities it creates for individuals and businesses. Over the last two years, he has focused closely on the creator economy, working directly with creators across music, events, media, and culture.
This experience has given him a unique perspective on the intersection between Bitcoin and the creator economy. He has seen first hand how creators build communities, influence culture, and drive commerce, while also experiencing the limitations of existing financial infrastructure, particularly for creators operating across borders.
Today, his work focuses on exploring how Bitcoin can become more than a financial asset, but a global financial layer for the creator economy, enabling creators and their communities to transact, build, and participate in a more open economic system.

🌍 PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: BitDevs Gitega
📍 Location: Gitega, Burundi 🇧🇮
About:
BitDevs Gitega is a Bitcoin-only technical community in Gitega for developers, educators, builders, students, and technically curious people who want to go beyond surface-level adoption and study how Bitcoin actually works.
The group focuses on Bitcoin protocol development, the Lightning Network, privacy tools, free and open-source software, and practical use cases that fit Burundi’s local context.
Key Objectives:
1. Deepen Bitcoin technical knowledge through regular Socratic Seminars, reading groups, workshops, and study sessions on protocol design, Lightning, privacy, and related tools.
2. Support local developers and builders as they learn to write, review, and ship Bitcoin software, including hands-on projects and open-source work relevant to Burundi.
3. Host consistent technical gatherings that give Gitega a reliable space for collaborative learning, critique, and discussion instead of one-off events.
4. Encourage free and open-source contribution by helping members find grants, bounties, fellowships, and ways to publish code, notes, and local-language learning resources.
5. Strengthen Burundi’s Bitcoin developer community by connecting Gitega talent to the wider African and global BitDevs network while keeping the focus technical, Bitcoin-only, and locally grounded.

Just wrapped a session on Bitcoin adoption , the core idea: "Technology is a means, never an end." Trust comes first, tech only matters once people feel its value.
Which is exactly why we're bringing a Bitcoin Bootcamp to Gitega University next week.
Not "teach Bitcoin" , find what's broken (costly transfers, no safe savings, no privacy) and let Bitcoin answer that.
30 young Burundians, five days, hands-on.
Huge congratulations to my co-founder @Barakana_GE on being announced as a speaker for @AfroBitcoinOrg 2026! ⚡
A well-deserved nod to your relentless drive and a proud milestone for the entire @mysatoshi257 team pushing sovereign education and tools in Burundi 🇧🇮.
We are excited to announce Barakana Guy-Eudes as one of the speakers at the Africa Bitcoin Conference in Blantyre, Malawi.
Barakana is a Burundian Bitcoiner, cypherpunk, and Bitcoin educator, and the Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer of Free Tech Institute (FREETI), a non-profit organization focused on advancing Bitcoin education and adoption in Burundi through initiatives such as BitDevs and BTC Shule.
He is also the Founder, COO & Chief Brand & Image Officer of Bitlibera, a non-KYC Bitcoin wallet designed for the Burundian market, enabling seamless transactions between Bitcoin Lightning and Lumicash without requiring an account or KYC.
Barakana also serves as the Country Representative of Trezor Academy Burundi and has participated in international Bitcoin conferences, including TBD by Trezor in the Czech Republic.
