It's an honor to have gotten to know Aaron over the years. First on here, then in real life. @AdvancedPlanner is in great hands.
Also highly recommend the Symposium (late-Sept in Nanaimo) to ALL real financial planners in Canada. You don't need to be a member to attend, get a ton of CE credits (pretty much make up your whole CFP CE requirement, including Professional Responsibility credits) and you will actually learn and be challenged intellectually throughout.

The Institute of Advanced Financial Planners (@AdvancedPlanner) intends to introduce a new fiduciary standard for those who hold the registered financial planner designation, beginning in 2026. @AaronHectorCFP, the IAFP’s vice-president and symposium chair in Calgary, says the standard will elevate the professionalism of financial planning in Canada, and could attract more interest in membership. “We see a growing appetite and willingness to state fiduciary values publicly,” Mr. Hector says. “The values are holding your client’s best interest over your own. You have a duty of fidelity, honesty and complete disclosure to your clients. You can’t act with self-interest.” He spoke with @deannegage.
