It’s been a great start for Faba beans, already doing their thing below the surface. Nice nodules!

Great turnout today at the Greenthorpe farming systems sites, an excellent 7 year project still running, well done to all involved with the massive effort from these sites including the actual grazing plots using real 4 legged animals to simulate paddock practices.

Can anyone recommend a good record keeping app for spraying records that doesn’t break the bank?

Post em Prosulfocarb mixes has been a saviour on ryegrass this season- getting rain at the right time is the challenge to get reliable results. This is 7DAA done between rain events in a mix. Sakura/logran underneath IBS at sowing. To the naked eye these are looking really crook

Bit of a trial going on here Disc Vs Tyne with Overwatch on canola on mixed soil types - this is the sandy end of the pdk. Pretty happy with establishment and weed control for a late break, more bleaching in the disc on the sand, not as obvious on the heavier soil.

As we wrap the final day of GRDC updates, our Canadian guest Tom Wolf describes the turbulence created from the sprayer at high speeds. Interesting talk.

Always good listening to Steve Simpendorfer on disease management- what is and what’s not disease and when APR kicks in on various varieties. @theGRDC updates Dubbo

Well my first year of Aussie rules umpiring is all but done. I must say it’s more challenging than it looks, copped a bit of abuse this year and one understands why umpires are a scarce commodity. Please do be kind it’s harder than it looks and we do our best. Next year? TBC.

For those interested in this topic, here it is video version of what can happen if AMS is not mixed properly (in addition to the ineffective water conditioning that can't be seen). youtube.com/watch?v=mlO8XuMX…

A quick trip past the old farm the other day, I can now honestly say I have no regrets moving away to pursue a career in agronomy at a mature age. I’m grateful for all those that have helped me get to where I am today 10.5yrs later, now back helping develop the next gen of Agros.
