Paul Mescal lands a best actor nomination at #Oscars2023 for AFTERSUN. Great result for a superb film that was barely on the map before its premiere. And confirmation of a dizzying rise for Mescal.

The Islands edge thing is reminding me of Breo. It was a genuinely delicious wheat beer that Guinness launched. people weren't ready for it. My da bought me a pint of it when I was well underage because he refused to believe that anything that pale could get me drunk.

You'd forget both Michael Fassbender and Tom Hardy had very early career roles in Band of Brothers (2001) together. It was Fassbender's first screen role and (I think) Hardy's too. Also Irishman Peter O'Meara, the dentist from Love/Hate, played the incompetent officer Norman Dike

This was one we pestered Mam to buy for ages until she finally caved. It was free-flowing shite and we hated it. I don't think we ever managed to talk anything else into the shopping trolley for the rest of our childhood.
