These are the moments that have made up Dusty’s life since coming home. Some significant, some completely ordinary, and some we never could have anticipated.

Background:
In 1995, Dusty was 20 years old, serving as a Navy SEAL when he was swept into a high-profile Virginia case that quickly became defined by headlines rather than facts. The case was purely circumstantial. The actual perpetrator confessed in 2000 and testified in 2008. As a result, the Commonwealth of Virginia ruled Dusty "actually innocent." However, the Attorney General of Virginia appealed and his convictions were upheld. He's been fighting for exoneration ever since.

When proactive care turns into accusation…
Alaina and Samuel Melendez took their baby girl to the hospital due to concerns that she was experiencing pain in her leg. The hospital found an infection and septic arthritis, but also found multiple fractures in multiple stages of healing.
Even though there was well documented medical concerns since birth, and clear record of appropriate concern and proactive care by the parents, Alaina was accused of abuse, and Samuel of allowing it.
DCF stepped in and took custody of both their children, and now Alaina faces criminal charges.

She won and got them back. Now she's helping other wrongfully accused families to get their children back.

A Not Guilty verdict vindicated Brady and Carrie Timms. They did not abuse their son, Jameson; he has a rare genetic condition. The truth was on their side – the truth that law enforcement, child protective services, child abuse pediatricians, and prosecutors tried to corrupt and manipulate.
