There’s never really a “bad marketing” because even bad marketing can turn into great PR if properly harnessed. Days ago, there was massive outrage over TS Academy’s scholarships, with many people who simply didn’t understand the kind of scholarship being offered having so much to say about it. On the surface, it was really bad for the academy and its business because the dominant narrative was that they were scammers. But on the flip side, it was massive FREE PR for them, the kind that would have cost them a fortune if they had to pay everyone who talked about the brand. It brought the brand back to people’s minds. Those who had benefited from the academy seized the opportunity to share their testimonies, while more people who had previously been reluctant to sign up eventually did. What looked like a PR disaster quickly turned into a massive wave of publicity, and they got it all for free. There’s never really bad marketing, especially when you understand how to harness the attention and turn it into an opportunity.
