The American Black Tern hasn't been visiting the tern colony at Long Nanny too often since its chicks died. I got lucky as it did a close pass of the warden's hut today.

Variation in breast bands/underwings of pale morph Soft-plumaged Petrels photographed 500km north of the Falklands Jan 2026. Most had thick complete breast bands but one was incomplete with paler underwings.

A productive day round #Scarborough yesterday with 94 species. Drinking cold🍺 at the Mill Inn with a Red Kite above us perhaps the highlight.
