This Wednesday I will be releasing episode 100 of the @SoundCentricMus podcast.
100? Like two zeros? We talkin triple digits?
I can’t believe it’s been 3 years. Truly, it’s crazy to even think about.
I was just a sophomore in college writing my music takes in a “Hip-Hop Heads @ OSU” GroupMe groupchat (to very little responses) when a stranger dmd me that he liked my music takes and wanted to see if I’d be interested in starting a podcast with him and a friend.
That man was @SamuelSarfo_
Who knew that question would change my life.
Doing the pod with Sam, I had finally found someone who shared this passion I had for music.
It was so awesome forming this friendship, and even though he is now continuing his career in a different sector, I appreciate him for helping jump start this platform that means so dearly to me.
Doing this podcast, I have had the opportunity to chat with some of my favorite artists, creators, mangers, etc. and get to continue talking about and learning about my passion.
The fact that one person listens is enough for me to keep going.
Even when in my own life I’ve had a lot of failures and have made career pivots, this podcast has been an outlet to keep my passion for music alive.
So, if you’ve ever listened or commented on a single thing I’ve done, I appreciate you.

Most audiences are only going to find your music as important as you make it.
If you drop a new song and don’t want to make any sort of marketing for it, then the audience is gonna respond accordingly.
“This artist must not think it’s that good of a song either, they posted it then dipped.”
If I drop a podcast and post 0 clips, why would my potential audience think it’s a good episode to watch.
Easier said than done, but my advice, do marketing that gets you excited to post. There’s no cookie cutter formula to vitality. If you like making videos of you rapping, do it. If you like playing video games, merge that w ur music. You love fashion? Merge it with your music.
20 years ago you had to pass out CDs. Today, you have the benefit of so many creative outlets to promote work you love and believe in. Show your audience you feel that way too.

OutKast is asking for the following in its copyright infringement lawsuit against Ovrkast.:
• Permanently ban Ovrkast. from using the name or mark “Ovrkast.”
• Compensatory, incidental and consequential damages
• All profits and gains derived from the use of the Ovrkast. name
• Enhanced, trebled and/or punitive damages
• Legal fees
• Removal of all online uses of the Ovrkast. name or mark
• Destruction of all merchandise, promotional materials, packaging, advertisements and other materials bearing the Ovrkast. name, including the files and templates used to create them
