Wishful thinking is all the fan base has right now.

He’s hasn’t seriously considered it in the past. He’s not going to seriously consider it now. He basically said that. Anyone reading anything else into that is wishful thinking.

1. Obviously when Troy speaks, we should all listen 2. Kind of interesting how boldly he is speaking about a Cowboys player when he is about to do a Cowboys game 3. And with his job status so up in the air based on reports
.@fishsports (on Cowboys receivers): “Are guys running routes as crisply as you wish they were? @TroyAikman: No, and they haven’t in a while. I won’t name names, but there’s one particular player, I was embarrassed. It’s the worst performance I’ve ever seen from a receiver on a football field.”

And that's why Troy needs to be inside the franchise.

All the more reason to get him inside The Star IMO.
He does have 25 years of vast knowledge of how other teams operate

Would be such a winning move
A rather telling snippet from Troy Aikman's chat with our own @fishsports on the potential to come and help the #Cowboys. "I would welcome any conversation with Jerry, and quite honestly I don't know if there ever would be an opportunity. "But if Jerry came to me and felt in his heart that I could lend some services that would help make them better, I'd have a hard time not taking a good look at that." The move, it seems, is there to be made.

It' the hope that kills you, RJ.
This would be the coolest thing ever. Even if it failed. The sheer idea of trying a non-Jones, but also specifically a chosen son of the organization. We all know better than to hope.

If he’s serious about making his franchise “serious” he should consider it IMO.
Do you honestly think Jerry would pay Aikman anywhere near what he commands as a TV guy? $10-$15 million easy? Probably more. You’re insane. Never gonna happen. Never.

Jerry won’t listen just like he didn’t listen to Jimmy a few years ago

I think the information that is inside Troy's head could help this franchise to no end.
I don’t know if Troy Aikman would be a successful GM or not. However I do know that he will have a very good & wide knowledge base of the NFL personnel and the Draft prospects each & every year AND I’m certain Jerry knows absolutely nothing about the upcoming Draft prospects and/or NFL player personnel in the League.

I'd settle for ANY football position within the organization.

The coaching searches have never been “serious” searches and it’s been that way for years. Can’t have someone coming in that could upset the apple cart.

It stings We had the slumber party with Mike McCarthy when he was hired Operating in the oddest way (but the way the Cowboys always do)

When you know how they’ve operated for the last 30 years, it’s rather easy.
It’s hard not to think about how the Cowboys didn’t even want to have a cup of coffee with Ben Johnson

Dak at No. 5, with three first round picks on his offensive line that includes a 3-time Pro Bowler in Tyler Smith, is alarming.
A lot of high-pressure situations for these guys 😅

If I were serious about winning, I’m getting Troy into any position within that organisation. You can’t tell he he wouldn’t help immensely.
Jerry Jones says he has been following former Cowboys QB Troy Aikman’s comments on expiring broadcast deal. When asked about the possibility of Troy shifting to front office work, Jerry expressed confident in his ability to succeed there:

And the fellas from @TheHerd enter the CowboysRoundtable.com chat ...
So when you whiff on all these draft picks, does the GM go on the hot seat?
