It’s 3:30pm on Christmas Eve.
We have a 12-year-old, 9-year-old, and a 6-year-old.
Over the next 24 hours, we will experience the widest range of emotional, physical, and spiritual highs and lows that happen in this family all year. All at once.
It’s cold outside.
(You can now skip watching/reading the news for the next 3 days. Merry Christmas.)
I guess when you’re in an industry where people who work really hard get laid off without notice and only a few weeks severance…then a guy who tells people who don’t want to work really hard they can leave with a thank you and 3 months of severance doesn’t really seem that bad.
There ONE reason Clemson is loving at halftime: Mistakes by the QB. Pick near the end zone. Fumble (ret for TD) near the end zone. Dropped ball and fall down in red zone. It has nothing to do with “the trenches” as the announcers have said. What game are they watching?
Waiting in line for the Richochet @Carowinds with a 9 and 11 year old in the July heat is a special level of parental pain.
Me being excited about going camping so I can pack my truck and use the new bed cover I recently purchased is peak dad.
BREAKING: Rock Hill Mayor announces @Panthers holiday. “Whereas billionaire @NFL owners can’t stop asking for more taxpayer money, I am declaring Tuesday, April 19, #GoHomeYankee Day in the city of Rock Hill…Mr. Tepper can come get his steel and take it back to Pittsburgh.” 1/3
The mayor continued: “Whereas Mr. Tepper is a shrewd businessman, we invite him to keep his HQ in North Carolina and ask for taxpayer support there while enjoying higher taxes, higher gas prices, higher highway tolls, higher cost of living and a higher ratio of Democrats…” 2/3
I’m not someone to take parenting advice from. But I do believe this: When your son asks you to play catch, the answer is always “Yes.”
What if @panthers taxpayer $$ in Rock Hill was tied to team performance/citizenship?
$1m for player visit at school/ hospital
$1m for nonprofit use of facility
$1m for each win
$2m for playoff win
$5m for division title
$10m for Super Bowl
$50m for beating @AtlantaFalcons
BREAKING: Rock Hill Mayor confirms no more payments to @Panthers. “Rock Hill’s identity is championship football,” the mayor said. “I told that billionaire with his hand out that losing might be acceptable in Charlotte, but not in Football City, USA. No playoffs? No payments.”
Known for developing more NFL players and championship teams than any city in the Carolinas, Rock Hill reportedly has begun talks with @winthropu about expanding its program on the Panthers site. “Their football team is undefeated,” the mayor said. “That’s a team we’d pay for.”
Go Eagles! @tjmccullough I’m thinking tacos and queso for lunch.
Pet peeve: In copy, scripts, speeches etc. please don’t use the phrase “with everything going on right now.” Either say it specifically or don’t say it at all. Ambiguity doesn’t belong in effective messaging. – at Rock Hill, SC
