I am Omar Abd Rabou, a Palestinian journalist from Gaza. I am appealing to France to consider receiving me through its emergency reception and protection programs. I have been subjected to persecution and torture in Gaza by Hamas because of my condemnation of the October 7 attacks and my criticism of Hamas and its policies. As a journalist at risk, I urgently need safety and protection. I respectfully ask the French authorities to consider my case on humanitarian and emergency grounds. @FranceJerusalem @EmmanuelMacron

This “ban research” for Medical Students is bad idea for Med Students** (down below) and bad overall. Aside from research for academia, who are going to be PIs on clinical trials or Biotech execs?Who are going to be policy makers and work in government roles? Most Med Students are not really introduced to research; you “ban” it, then how are people going to even consider these other important opportunities or career paths? This does and will continue to slows down drug development (with dearth of PIs) and health policy development. And if you take away research. Then residency applications is even *more subjective*. Step 1 pass / fail. No grades first 2 years. A lot of things with “good intentions to make things less stressful” are making applications more subjective and just based on if someone likes someone rather than objective measures. So it’s based on rotations and interviews, which are completely subjective. People don’t even remember who is on a rotation 1 month later. Why do people care if people want to do research for their CVs or if it’s someone’s life work if they do a good job on a publication or project?

Someone peeled the "J" off "Jewish" at the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh, PA. The exhibit celebrates the histories of different cultures that helped shape the city. This was the only exhibit label that was vandalized and the museum has been made aware.

“It is now no more that toleration is spoken of…”, George Washington, 1790. More than two centuries later, that ideal is worth remembering and worth defending. Happy and Proud Fourth. 🇺🇸

And @NYCMayor was given an opportunity to dial it back today in response to a question, but he instead read from prepared text to double down. This, combined with how he read from a teleprompter for his “monsters” speech, reminds that his line of attack and the specific language chosen was all very deliberate. None of these comments are a result of him being sloppy while winging it. Wake up folks…this is a concerted campaign.
“Monsters.” “Dark money.” A hidden hand “turning us against one another.” Swap “AIPAC” for “Jews” and it’s the oldest antisemitic conspiracy theory in the books. That’s not criticizing a lobby. That’s laundering antisemitism from your podium as Mayor of a city with more than a million Jews. This bullshit is dangerous. If you want to talk about real monsters let’s start with the North Koreans, Russians, Sudanese, the Iranian regime, and their proxies — Hamas, Hezbollah, PIJ — and other terrorist groups who’ve killed scores of Americans.

A flag featuring swastikas and a Star of David flew over NYU during graduation today. The specific building it was flown over was named after a Jewish donor to the school. Does no one feel shame anymore?

🇮🇱🇵🇸 Hamas brought written instructions on how to rape their victims. That's not speculation anymore, it's in today's "Silenced No More" report. 2 years. 430 testimonies. 10,000 images analyzed. Legal conclusion: it was systematic, deliberate, genocidal. They filmed it, sent the footage to the families. Assaulted victims after death. Targeted faces specifically... to destroy what their families would bury. The UN stalled for 2 years. Some academics still call the evidence thin. 1,800 hours of footage reviewed frame by frame disagrees. Hamas used rape as written, distributed, coordinated strategy on October 7. That is now the legal, documented, unimpeachable record. The question was never the evidence. What's the real reason for the delay?
🇮🇱🇱🇧🇵🇸 Netanyahu on 60 Minutes just said that the war with Iran “is not over” because “there are ballistic missiles that they still WANT to produce” The Israeli PM greatest hits so far: - Gaza: “We have to destroy Hamas, it's an existential threat” - Lebanon: “We gotta crush Hezbollah + buffer zone!” - Iran: "Nukes!" (since 1992! 34 years ago), then shifted to the "missile stockpiles!" Now just their intent to build missiles? Is he in some metaphysical war here? The man is terrified his mandate ends, and he’s maxing out and endless war, grabbing land from every neighbor. It's the classic case of the goalposts which never stop moving... Source: 60 Minutes

there’s a well-known piece of sales advice we picked up during YC called “default to action" especially at the early stage, closing a deal is better than getting it perfect and not every AE is optimized to do that I spoke with @jerseejess a while ago about what your first AE hire should look like:
Replying to @chrispisarski
Say a bit more about how the new AE brought a level up in your tenacity to close quickly.

Jewish American Olympic gold medalist Jack Hughes proudly declared, "I love the USA. I’m so proud to be an American today," moments after clinching gold for the United States. American Jews are proud to call the U.S.home, proud to represent it, and proud to contribute to its strength & success on the world stage. Mazal Tov Jack - you make us all so proud!

Finally, after over two years, Doctors Without Borders acknowledges that Hamas has been using Nasser Hospital as a terror base. But shame on them for not admitting this during the preceding two years, when we were all documenting the proof in real time
