I placed stops where the loss felt comfortable, instead of where the trade idea was actually invalidated. I forced trades because sitting out felt like falling behind. Every rule I now trade by has a mistake behind it. Usually an expensive one. For years, my process was simple: Make the mistake. Pay for it. Work out why. Adjust. Days like today used to wipe me out. Today, I stayed patient, protected my capital, and walked away with a profit. $BTC finally moved into the demand below the range, around $81K. I’d been saying I wanted to see price spend some time below the range instead of giving us a tiny sweep. When everyone is watching the same obvious level, I’m cautious about expecting a textbook reaction. Price can front-run it or slice straight through it, creating fear before anything meaningful develops. I covered this during the stream and shared updates inside the DDT server where I could. The order flow was showing longs aping in, trying to catch the bottom. No clear signs of trapped shorts. Price failing to reclaim important levels. For me, those were reasons to stay cautious. A demand zone gives me an area to watch. Buyers still have to prove they can take control. I recognise these warning signs because I’ve paid for ignoring them. I’ve tried to catch the low. Been stopped out. Used the next low as invalidation. Been stopped out again. Then revenge traded because I “needed” to make it back. By the time a clean setup finally appeared, I’d already damaged my account and my mindset. I couldn’t see the opportunity clearly anymore. All I could see was the money I’d lost. That’s how one bad trade turns into a terrible day. The biggest progress in my trading has been learning to interrupt that cycle. Accept the loss. Let price develop. Stay clear enough to act when the evidence is there. After nine years in this game, being able to get through a day like today calmly means a lot to me. Making a profit is great. Finishing with my capital and head intact matters even more. And being able to share those lessons with a group of traders who feel like family makes it even more meaningful. I can’t save anyone from every loss. But if sharing what cost me years of frustration helps someone recognise that spiral and step away before it gets worse, that matters. Nine years trading.
