Boone isn't the problem. The lineup isn't nearly good enough for a playoff run, and it is time to abandon the idea that hitting below .240 is acceptable for a MLB player absent extreme power.
#Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs, has been undergoing tests for days.
Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played without having slept.
This might beat the Jack Kennedy line.
Flávio Bolsonaro: “Lula, você pode explicar por que 73% dos presidiários votaram em você?”
Lula responde: “Eu quero que vote 100%, até seu pai.”

Nothing you cite equates "general counsel" with the legally defined "in-house counsel."
And I doubt you can show be any evidence that Katie Zacharia ever claimed to be an "in-house counsel."
Or CAN you?
In the Pennsylvania legal system, you cannot call yourself a Prothonotary unless you have sworn an oath to reject Antithonotarianism.
Hey @Jeopardy, for those who watch with the sound off can you show the correct Final Jeopardy answer on screen when no one gets it right?
In New York, and likely elsewhere, passing the Bar isn’t even enough. You can’t call yourself a lawyer (or similar) until you are sworn in. — NYCL, Judiciary Law - S. 478.
My wife’s family survived as Partisans and ended up in a displacement camp because they had no homes to return to. They went to Bolivia because that’s who would take them. This after 2000 years of expulsions, pogroms, and worse. Israel exists so there is always somewhere to go.
In 1938, five years into Nazi rule, 32 countries met at Evian, France to decide what to do with the Jews of Germany. They talked for nine days. They ate, drank, laughed, and agreed the Jews faced mortal danger. Then they kept their doors closed.
By 1945, about 1.5 million Jewish children in Europe had been murdered. That’s 94% of those alive at the start of the war in 1939. There was no army, no reliable passport, and no Allied rescue that arrived in time.
Survivors came out of the camps to find neighbors living in their homes and uninterested in their return. In several places, that disinterest turned into violent pogroms. Jews survived Hitler’s madness only to be killed when they tried to return home.
Hundreds of thousands of Jewish survivors had no homes and were placed back behind wire as “displaced persons.” Their ancestral homeland, recognized by the League of Nations in 1922 as the site of a Jewish national home, remained under a British blockade that kept Jewish immigration to a trickle.
In 1947, the UN offered a truncated Jewish state next to an Arab state. The Jews accepted it, but the Arab Higher Committee refused. On the eve of the 1948 invasion, Azzam Pasha of the Arab League declared it would be “a war of extermination and momentous massacre.” The war killed about 1% of the Jewish population. The rest stayed and built a country that is now a technological leader, a regional power, and home to half the world’s Jews.
No conference of self-congratulating leaders gets to decide anymore whether Jews must stay and be slaughtered or leave and hope to be saved. Now, there is a Jewish state. Now, every Jew has a home.
Lots of interesting takes on this. I find his speech compelling but his mannerisms distracting. It’s a different performance if you listen with your eyes closed. (Scott is a fantastic actor and may win the Oscar this year for playing an actor playing Hamlet).
Andrew Scott delivers this speech too slowly; I know some viewers will hate the way he breaks up the verse. AND YET even in spite of that I think this is the best delivery of this soliloquy I’ve ever seen.
He makes it sound like it’s not a portentous speech everyone already knows but a morally serious real-time deliberation, by a highly intelligent person in extreme pain, considering what it would mean to end his own life.
Picanha is the main reason why a good churasscaria beats a good American steakhouse. It’s not the only reason.

True. Much of my wife’s Polish-Jewish family went from post-War internment camps to La Paz, Bolivia. It wasn’t because they had a longing for Bolivia.
Something that bothers me is that we teach the Holocaust in such a way that it’s perfect in narrative structure— a beginning, middle, and end. Rising and falling action. Book-like. We don’t teach that after the Holocaust, Jews had nowhere to go back to. Their businesses and homes repossessed. Their property looted. Families slaughtered.
Oftentimes, the only place they could remain, and temporarily at that, were displaced persons camps.
We don’t teach that after the war was officially over, European society remained intensely antisemitic and continued carrying out persecution and pogroms. We don’t teach about communist governments in Eastern European countries purging out what few Jews remained after the Holocaust.
Instead, we make it a narrative. We put a bow on it. We pretend that after Hitler died, everything was well in the world once again and everyone lived happily ever after.
Who does this serve?
The "we'd all be speaking German" line, a facially fine retort, ignores the rather larger point that Hitler's plans, had he won, included murdering or deporting the majority of the adult UK male population and all of its Jews.
Put laser lights on top of the posts. A laser doink would be a miss.
The great Ernie Adams once pushed the sport to increase the height of the field goal posts.
Ernie himself recently told me that he wanted the posts even higher but there is an engineering issue regarding the weight distribution of posts. #PinkStripes
