Exciting to be at the ribbon cutting for our awesome new Ben and Esther Rosenbloom Center for Jewish Life at University of Maryland College Park.
Maryland Hillel already hosts and supports one of the most vibrant and active Jewish student communities in the world. With their expanded new building, they'll be able to take their levels of Jewish joy, belonging and leadership to even greater heights!

Was great to have dinner in Jerusalem earlier this week with five former Hillel colleagues who are first year rabbinical students at Hebrew Union College (@huc1875 ), the reform movement’s seminary.
It was gratifying to hear how their Hillel experiences helped inspire their Jewish, life and professional journeys, and underscored why we invest so much in leadership development, including to strengthen the rabbinic talent pipeline.
Shabbat Shalom!
This is Hillel: Creating space for joyful and meaningful Jewish gathering.
Was awesome to join our Rochester Hillel team and President Sarah Mangelsdorf and members of the University of Rochester administration at groundbreaking for the incredible new Greenbaum Center for Jewish Life.
Very fitting to be inaugurating this important new center for joyful Jewish gathering during Sukkot, and a big step forward in ensuring U of R will remain a great option. For Jewish students. Chag Sameach!

Great piece by @laspindle , President of @SamueliFound , about the Har Initiative. Har is what it looks like when visionary, ambitious philanthropists take on a major issue - contemporary antisemitism - through audacious, strategic, entrepreneurial and collaborative investing. And tells Lindsey's personal journey into addressing this work in a way that will be familiar to those of us who made similar journeys from other career and life pathways. Grateful to be inspired and supported by Har on our shared climb in this critical moment.

Honored to be a part of the ribbon cutting for Queens Hillel's new "Chanukat HaBayit" - a unique new programming space that will serve Jewish students from across Queens, including the large Bukharian Jewish student population in the area. Great to be able to usher in 5787 with an inspiring example of Hillel growth, partnership, leadership and innovation!
Grateful for the support and partnership of @JewishCommFund , @UJAfedNY , @nily and others who made this new space possible.
The world lost a great Hillel leader today. Michael Brooks, z"l, longtime Executive Director of University of Michigan Hillel, reimagined what Hillel could be, and impacted and transformed the lives of thousands of students in the process. May his memory be a blessing.
Happy Back-to-School Season! Sharing some of the creative ways our Hillel staff and student leaders are welcoming and bringing together new and returning students. Shabbat Shalom!

Check out @RabbiCosgrove @jonfrankelRS podcast “Common Faith” featuring some of our amazing Hillel professionals in conversation about back to school and the future of Jewish life on campus @HillelIntl
As students head back to college, we sit down with three veteran campus rabbis — Rabbi Jessica Kirschner of #StanfordUniversity, Rabbi Rachel Isaacs of #ColbyCollege, and Rabbi Ari Israel of the #UniversityofMaryland to talk about what Jewish life on campus really looks like today.
From antisemitism and the aftermath of October 7 to Shabbat dinners, unexpected conversations, Jewish resilience, and even Tashlich in space, they explore why the essential work of Hillel remains what it has always been: building relationships, nurturing Jewish identity, and helping students discover a Judaism they can make their own.

The Embassy of Israel to the United States recently welcomed student leaders from 22 colleges and universities across the U.S. participating in the Hillel–National Black Empowerment Council (NBEC) Collegium: Concord.
Students had the unique opportunity to hear from Minister Counselor for Political Affairs, Yoav Katz and Minister of Public Diplomacy, @sawsan_hasson during their visit to the Embassy. Together they discussed the Embassy’s public diplomacy efforts on issues central to the U.S.-Israel relationship and the importance of building meaningful relationships across communities.
@HillelIntl / National Black Empowerment Council
I enjoyed the opportunity to meet and speak to a great group of Black and Jewish student leaders at the inaugural leadership convening that we hosted in partnership with the National Black Empowerment Council.
NBEC, led by Darius Jones, like Hillel International, is committed to fostering a new generation of leaders capable of building bridges, growing understanding and strengthening our communities.
We held our New Professionals Institute last week (in the great State of Ohio!) to onboard 200 new Hillel professionals of all types - Executive Directors, Assistant Directors, Rabbis, Senior Jewish Educators, Social Workers, Early Career Fellows (Springboard and IACT), Engagement Pros, Development and Operations Professionals and the list goes on. And what a group they are! Thoughtful, creative, energetic, engaging, spiritual and passionate about supporting and empowering Jewish students and their campus communities. No wonder "NPI" is always one of my favorite weeks of the year! @HillelIntl
As we prepare for a new year on campus, I'm grateful for both the 1,200 talented professionals who lead our campus Hillels and the visionary philanthropy of the Marcus Foundation enabling us to invest in their growth and success.

The recent, failed effort by the student senate at The New School to boycott Hillel - the world's largest and most inclusive Jewish student organization - is both blatant antisemitism and a shameful attempt to intimidate Jewish students and erase Jewish life on campus.
No college or university has ever considered cutting ties with Hillel. To the contrary, university leaders across the country have consistently affirmed Hillel's critical role in supporting Jewish students and adding value to the overall campus community, as reflected in the swift denunciation by The New School administration of their student senate's unauthorized and discriminatory action.
Jewish life on campus through Hillel is not up for debate. We will continue to ensure every student has a place where they can belong and fully express their Jewish identities.
@HillelIntl
Demonizing Hillel with false charges rooted in age-old antisemitic tropes is deeply offensive and a complete misrepresentation of Hillel’s work. At a time when The New School student government should be looking for ways to create more welcoming and inclusive environments, their actions instead serve to punish and exclude Jewish students.
We appreciate The New School administration’s strong rejection of the student senate's actions and their full support of Hillel, as well as the many others who have recognized the outrageousness of the student government's discriminatory actions.

Mazel Tov to Rabbi Mike Uram on being appointed the next Chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary! Based on his 16 years as an inspiring and innovative Hillel leader, I'm confident Mike will bring the bold vision and entrepreneurial spirit JTS needs at this critical moment in its storied history.
