Just had this message from our brilliant team at SHARE in Chester “Hope you’ve all had a lovely start of the week. We’ve had a kind donation of £175. I went back to thank the person, and they come back to say that they’ve just won on their premium bonds and they wanted to donate their winnings to us because they know how hard everybody works. It made me smile, so I wanted to share with you all 😊”

AI gets a bad name, but sometimes… 🤩

68 people housed since the SHAC opened on 1 March, an average of just over TWO people housed every week from the streets here in Chester. 🏠💚 Today, on World Homeless Day, we’re highlighting what your support makes possible here in Chester. At Chester’s SHAC (SHARE Homeless Action Centre), people experiencing homelessness can find the help they need under one roof: housing support, access to doctors, food and drink, activities, probation services, laundry, showers, addiction support, links to the Jobcentre and much more. It’s a welcoming place to get practical help, build relationships and take steps towards a more settled future. Every person we help has their own story, hopes and plans. Last week, people using the SHAC took part in a litter pick and weeding around the local community, helping care for our neighbourhood around St. Martin’s. They’ve also been creating a soldier silhouette and making poppies from recycled bottles to commemorate Remembrance Day next month. 🌺 These shared activities bring people together, build confidence and offer opportunities to contribute to community life. The SHAC is part-funded by Chester’s ShareShop, which also sells Second Bite Cookies, made by people experiencing homelessness at Soul Kitchen. Your next visit could include a delicious cookie while helping support work that changes lives. 🍪 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helps and supports SHARE: our staff, volunteers, trustees, donors, customers, partner organisations, local businesses and the wider community. Whether you give your time, money, skills or kindness, shop with us, organise a fundraiser, spread the word or quietly lend a hand, you are helping make this work possible. Every contribution matters, and we’re grateful to you all. 💚 Please share this post, visit ShareShop and help us keep opening doors for people who need them. 💚 Please donate here: Shareaid.co.uk #WorldHomelessDay #SHARE #SHAC #Chester #SecondBiteCookies #SoulKitchen

Possibly the best thing I’ve bought for years 🤩
