A rare photo of my Great Grandfather as he was about to set off on the Isle of Mann TT race 1913. He died in the race 5th June 1913. Aged 23.

I do like it when a poem that I read years ago suddenly pops back into my head and I can remember it word for word, and that poem triggers another remembered work long time shelved in my dusty brain.
The brain is a wonderful thing when it delivers what brings joy.
Croatia should pick 11 children from the 6000 in the stadium to play the second half as the adults on the pitch have failed to turn up. #CROENG
After another trip to see Tudors at Kentwell a route I have travelled a few times now I have really started to notice how many road signs are obscured by foliage, Important signs like warning of hazards hidden behind overgrown hedges. Road safety neglected by councils.
Took the parents in law to Whitby yesterday. Will need a recovery week at some point to get over the chaos they caused.
Whitby was busy, but has lost a little more of its character with more holiday lets replacing residential homes and independent shops declining to retirement.
Doncaster City resigning from the NCEL is not a surprise because the club had big ideas but a small base to back them. There were already clubs out there in the local area struggling and scrapping to survive financially and another one was never going overcome those limits.
Never fails to annoy me that in our small village at school time the local 'mummies' drive their white over sized Range Rovers that have never been off road less than a mile to pick up their kids 'because it is not safe with the roads'. They are the actual danger, walk for once.
Disappointed in the Escape Room I did as when I got out I was still in the same place I started from.
The people I went to school with have been doing Escape Rooms for years, I think the proper term is Prison Cell.

A couple of weeks ago a local youth rode his cycle directly at my car as I was driving in the area. I had to break sharply to avoid hitting them. I learned today that what I witnessed was 'Snapping' which is a youth trend of riding dangerously at cars and people for online clout.
On the door camera we regularly capture groups of lads on motorbikes, no helmets, pulling wheelies, speeding, and cutting across moving vehicles forcing heavy breaking.
Only a matter of time before serious injuries start happening as the risk taking is getting worse.

As mentioned last month, our former car, Cora the Corsa, was written off after being crashed into by an idiot on his phone. We now have our own car again! Introducing - Mags the Vauxhall Corsa! #NewCar @AdamBat92308251
I hate dealing with the used car market. After our car got written off by the young driver on his phone, we have had to look for a used car that fits our use. We had found a car, paid for it, then on delivery day the dealer decided that it needed work doing.
They now want to keep the car a good 9 days past delivery to carry out a repair that any half decent backstreet mechanic could get done in under 2 hours. As they never delivered the 'warranty' courtesy car is not available to us. We really want the car as the MOT history says
The Speenhamland system from the late 18th century to the early 19th was a form of outdoor relief (Benefit) that meant farmers would pay their workers as little as possible in the knowledge that the parish fund would top up wages to a basic subsistence level.
Nothing changes.
Turns out it did unite the world against Argentina, VAR, and FIFA. #WorldCupFinal
Spain are the only team playing football in this final. Argentina are just waiting for a VAR gift to win it. Already had Spain denied a good goal by VAR. Argentina did not deserve to even get out of the group stage. #WorldCupFinal
