I didn't play all of ToTK but most of the puzzles I played felt like they had an "intended solution" (or a couple), I do think there's a certain fun to figuring out the specific solution to a problem, but, idk, most of the time I prefer there being space to reward clever thought

This is exactly why I don’t like these games. I don’t feel like I’m solving a puzzle that requires a specific solution. I feel like I’m exploiting a physics engine, often by accident.

This is why I have a harder time getting into more puzzle-y FE hacks. There's nothing wrong with them, and some of them are really cool, but I miss the space for player expression.

I agree with this only in the sense that Fire Emblem has good boss designs. Lots of unit portraits in lots of FEs could be end of map bosses. I like most of the designs in the quote tweet.

Why are so many of the characters so ugly? You could mistake half of these guys for end-of-chapter bosses in literally any previous Fire Emblem.

As I near the end of the Ghost in the Shell Manga, I think this might be a rare instance where I like the adaptation (1995 movie) better than the original. The manga is still pretty good though; I'm surprised at how tonally different the movie is.
