little tease from the article coming in a few hours, we took a super deep dive on the digital visors in argonauts
digital visors trait is now a own collection within the collection and every one is unique (so are the other argonauts but we focus on this trait in the article)
argonauts is setting new standards for what an NFT 10k pfp should be like and i expect many many coming collections draw inspiration from this
chapeau @lphaCentauriKid
Looks like cryptopunks

Expanding to other chains shouldn’t mean leaving your origin chain behind.
With UnVault, your collection can remain on its origin chain while expanding across multiple Echo chains.
No burning the original collection.
No forcing holders to migrate.
No choosing one chain over another.
Holders can voluntarily migrate to the chain that works for them.
One collection. Multiple chains.
Why choose one when you don’t have to? 🟧
The JNKYZ are getting UnVaulted.
We're excited to welcome @JNKYZ420 to UnVault.
Born on ApeChain.
Built with their community.
Ready to reach even more of Web3.
And the JNKYZ community has secured an allocation for Phase 1 of the Genesis Bugz mint. 🐛
Same collection. Same community. More chains.
Get Bit. Get JNK'D. 🔥
Just finished playing The Blood of Dawnwalker and honestly this might be one of the first RPGs in a while that actually understands what “choices matter” is supposed to mean.
You have 30 days to save Coen’s family and the important part is that time actually matters. Doing certain quests, following leads, helping people etc costs time.
So yeah, you can miss shit.
And I love that.
Modern RPGs have kinda trained people into thinking you should be able to clear every icon, help every NPC, finish every quest and still casually walk into the ending whenever you feel like it.
Thats not really a choice though is it
If I choose to spend my time helping some random guy in a village, I actually like the idea that somewhere else something might happen because I wasn’t there.
Somebody might die. A quest might disappear. I might never even know what I missed.
Good.
More RPGs need to stop being scared of the player missing content.
The day/night system is probably the other thing I really like here.
During the day Coen is basically human, then at night you get access to his vampire side and completely different abilities/opportunities.
It sounds simple on paper but it changes how you look at quests. Sometimes its not just “how do I get in here”, its “should I even be doing this right now or come back tonight”
That stuff is cool.
Now the combat...
eh.
Its not terrible, theres some nice ideas with the directional blocking and parrying and the vampire abilities are sick, but I dont think the sword combat is anywhere near as interesting as the actual RPG systems.
After a while you start noticing patterns and it becomes more about reading attack directions than actually feeling like you're fighting somebody.
And yeah obviously we need to talk about The Witcher 3.
I've played a stupid amount of Witcher 3. Like genuinely way too much. Im still waiting for any excuse to jump back into that world again, whether its the remaster, more content, whatever comes next.
So when I say Dawnwalker has Witcher DNA all over it I dont mean that as some lazy “medieval RPG = Witcher” comparison.
You can FEEL it.
The way conversations are framed, the fucked up little stories you find in random villages, monsters mixed with very human problems, choices where neither option feels completely right.
Even the way some quests just slowly turn into something much worse than what you originally signed up for.
That part feels very familiar.
But I honestly dont see why thats a bad thing.
People have spent like 10 years asking for another RPG that gives them that Witcher 3 feeling.
Then a studio with former CDPR devs makes something that clearly carries some of that design philosophy and people go “this feels too much like Witcher”
bro what did you expect 😭
And Dawnwalker isn't just copying it either.
The interesting part is where they start fucking with the formula.
Time being a resource is smart.
Day and night actually changing what Coen can do is smart.
The game being willing to tell you “nah, you dont have enough time for everything. pick something” is probably my favorite part of the whole thing.
I actually wish they pushed some of it harder though.
The blood hunger mechanic sounds way more dangerous than it ends up feeling once you understand it, and the 30 day limit feels terrifying at first but eventually you realise you have a bit more breathing room than you thought.
Which is kinda disappointing because the game is at its best when its being cruel.
When it makes you choose without knowing if you're about to fuck yourself over 10 hours later.
I want MORE of that.
PC version also has some jank right now. Stutters, controller issues, weird little technical problems here and there. Nothing that completely destroyed it for me but its definitely not some flawless launch.
But honestly I can forgive a lot when a game actually feels like it has an idea behind it.
I'd much rather play something ambitious that occasionally trips over itself than another gigantic open world where I spend 70 hours clearing enemy camps and collecting crafting materials so I can craft a belt with +4% poison resistance.
Dawnwalker isn't The Witcher 4.
And as someone who loves Witcher 3, im actually glad it isn't trying to be.
It feels more like a bunch of developers took that style of RPG design they clearly know very well and went
“okay what can we do with this that we couldn't do before”
Not everything lands perfectly.
Combat could be better, PC version needs cleaning up and I wish some of the systems were even more punishing.
But theres definitely something here.
If this is Rebel Wolves figuring out what kind of studio they want to be, their next game could be fucking ridiculous.
8/10
