PlayStation latest years has been full of terrible decisions that were clearly focused on investors and ignoring gamers >Closing Japan Studio, Sony shut down one of its most unique first-party studios. >Going all-in on live-service games, Sony put huge amounts of money into live-service games instead of focusing more on the single-player games PlayStation was known for. >Buying Bungie for $3.6 billion, then let die Destiny and mass layoffs > Cancelling The Last of Us Online, (this is good) but they wasted so many time and money >Concord, well we all know what happened here the biggest flop ever >Closing Neon Koi, Sony shut down its mobile studio before its planned game was released. >Closing Bluepoint Games, The studio behind Demon’s Souls and Shadow of the Colossus remakes was shut down. > Today Walking away from Kojima’s PHYSINT, probably he asked for a physical edition and they said no >Ending physical discs for new games They are clearly appealing to investors and dont care about gamers anymore

PLS LET BE REAL
Warhorse Studios, the developers behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance, have addressed ongoing rumours that they are working on a Lord of the Rings video game. Content director Ondřej Bittner responded to a direct question about the project by saying: “I cannot disclose details but I can tell it is a huge, immersive RPG.” Community manager Tom Grey added that the studio cannot comment on future projects at this time. The speculation began in late March when industry insider claimed credible sources indicated Warhorse is developing a big-budget open-world Lord of the Rings RPG for Embracer Group, which owns both the Middle-earth gaming rights and the studio itself. Warhorse confirmed they are remaining in the RPG genre and plan to reveal their next project in the near future.

We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon was lowkey dropping some of the best quotes in the entire franchise. Way deeper than you’d expect from a Pokémon game.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know

By now we should all have an epiphany: the current Samsung Mobile division (MX) exists solely to help the Semiconductor division (DS) clear its inventory. In essence, it is nothing more than a subordinate appendage of DS. The absolute overlord of Samsung Electronics has always been DS, never MX. The mission of MX is not innovation. It is to absorb DS’s inventory, contribute profits, and act as the most expensive, most reluctant, yet eternally obedient “fat sheep” of the entire Samsung empire. Inside the Samsung Group, MX is neither the boss nor the second-in-command. It is treated by DS as a personal ATM, by headquarters as a scapegoat, and by the market as a joke—an “eldest son at the bottom of the hierarchy” whose only purpose is to keep transfusing blood to others and is never allowed to complain. MX does not exist to win; it exists to “ensure DS never loses.” Whether MX itself survives is irrelevant. What matters is that it must continue to be milked dry. That is its fate. This now perfectly explains why Lee Jae-yong almost never bothers with MX and almost never mentions Galaxy, yet cares deeply about DS’s business. He knows full well: MX exists to serve DS. It is the fundamental guarantee that DS can keep generating profits. Those profits are extracted from consumers’ pockets: DS gets the money through MX’s hands. Since MX itself also needs to remain profitable, it is forced to follow two ironclad rules: 1. It must source the vast majority of its components from DS (screens, Exynos, memory, cameras, batteries, etc.). This is a direct mandate from Lee Jae-yong himself. 2. To protect its own profit margins, it must use the cheapest possible components (e.g., reusing the same HP2 sensor, screens, and batteries for years on end). This is demanded by Roh Tae-moon (head of MX). If he wants to keep his throne and his massive paycheck, he has no choice. So where do DS’s high-end, high-cost components go? Exactly: they are sold to Apple and Chinese brands, who are willing to pay top dollar for DS’s premium parts. For example, the latest M14 OLED panels just went to vivo; many of the most powerful 200-MP telephoto sensors have been sold to vivo and OPPO. While MX buys the low-end, low-cost stuff from DS to protect its margins, Apple and Chinese brands buy the high-end, expensive stuff from DS to boost their own product competitiveness. Result? Chinese brands and Apple get stronger → they crush MX in sales → MX, desperate to protect margins, doubles down on buying even cheaper, lower-spec parts from DS → Chinese brands and Apple get even stronger → they buy even more cutting-edge parts from DS → they crush MX even harder… This is a death spiral. One-sentence summary: The stronger DS becomes, the weaker MX gets. Every division at Samsung is selfish and only looks out for itself; they don’t care about their brother divisions. In reality, they are engaged in internal cannibalization, and MX will be the first division they bleed to death. This is the core logic I derived from applying category theory to Samsung’s corporate structure in the paper I published the other day. The final conclusion is: the decline of Samsung MX is inevitable and irreversible. Samsung Galaxy phones can never again achieve major innovation. Their future has already been permanently locked. The only possible turning point would be when Galaxy’s global market share drops below 15 %, or when it gets consecutively overtaken by Apple and Xiaomi. Only then might Lee Jae-yong finally realize the danger and be forced to make changes. So let’s just wait and look forward to that day.

Game Mechanics should never be patented. All it does is bring down both developers and players for the sake of greed. Nintendo isn't protecting Pokemon here they are crushing any possible competition.
[Regarding the lawsuit, changes to Palworld and the future] We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the continued support of our fans over the past few months. We apologize for not being able to share as much information as we would like, but we trust our fans understand how difficult it is to be fully transparent while litigation is ongoing. Currently, we remain involved in prolonged legal proceedings regarding alleged patent infringement. We continue to dispute these claims and assert the invalidity of the patents in question. However, we have had to make certain compromises in order to avoid disruptions to the development and distribution of Palworld. On November 30th, 2024, we released Patch v0.3.11 for Palworld. This patch removed the ability to summon Pals by throwing Pal Spheres and instead changed it to a static summon next to the player. Several other game mechanics were also changed with this patch. As many have speculated, these changes were indeed a result of the ongoing litigation. Everyone here at Pocketpair was disappointed that this adjustment had to be made, and we fully understand that many players feel the same frustration. Unfortunately, as the alternative would have led to an even greater deterioration of the gameplay experience for players, it was determined that this change was necessary. Furthermore, we regret to inform our players that with the implementation of Patch v0.5.5, we must make yet another compromise. From this patch onward, gliding will be performed using a glider rather than with Pals. Pals in the player's team will still provide passive buffs to gliding, but players will now need to have a glider in their inventory in order to glide. We understand that this will be disappointing for many, just as it is for us, but we hope our fans understand that these changes are necessary in order to prevent further disruptions to the development of Palworld. We also want to extend our apologies to our fans for the discomfort and concern this ongoing litigation has caused. We remain committed to developing Palworld and delivering exciting new content to our fans. On behalf of everyone at Pocketpair and Team Palworld, thank you again for your continued support.
