Absa Bank Uganda retweeted
I am very excited to start my financial journey with Absa bank. I am happy that at Absa bank, my story matters.
Behind every young champion is a family cheering them on.
We were delighted to welcome Zara Marie Mbanga and Benjamin Ssali Kamulegeya, together with their families, as they prepare for exciting sporting journeys. They were received by our PPBB Director, @MosesRutahigwa .
Benjamin will captain Team Uganda at the 2026 CANA Zone 3 Championships, hosted by Uganda, while Zara will represent the country at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in November.
We are proud to support their journeys through our Family Banking solution, enabling young travellers to go cashless with an Absa Visa card while giving parents the reassurance of monitoring and managing spending from wherever they are.
To Benjamin, Zara and all our young champions, we wish you success as you pursue your dreams and fly the Ugandan flag high.
Go make Uganda proud! 🇺🇬

Uganda has over 1.8 million MSMEs in the informal sector alone, according to the @mofpedU. Making everyday business payments simpler and more efficient matters.
As @MosesRutahigwa, our Personal, Private and Business Banking Director, says: “Businesses need convenient and secure ways to participate in the shift to digital payments, not only in how they receive money, but also in how they spend it.”
We are incentivising that shift with UGX 22 million up for grabs every month for three months, rewarding SMEs that qualify through their Business Debit Card activity.

UGX 22 million up for grabs every month. You could be the next winner!
Every business makes payments. From buying stock and paying suppliers to covering operating costs and making purchases online, what if the way you make those payments could also put your business in the running to win UGX 22 million?
We are putting UGX 66 million in cash prizes behind a simple idea: encouraging SMEs to make digital payments part of how they do business.
Speaking at the launch, @MosesRutahigwa, our Personal, Private and Business Banking Director, said: “Our role as a bank is to provide SMEs with convenient and secure ways to manage their money and run their businesses every day”
That thinking is at the heart of the SME Business Debit Card Campaign, running from 15 October 2026 to 15 January 2027. Existing and prospective business customers can qualify by opening an active Absa Business Account and signing up for a Business Debit Card, or by spending at least UGX 500,000 monthly using their Business Debit Card at POS terminals or online. Each qualifying activity earns one entry into the monthly draw.

Last week we had a data privacy workshop and here are a few takeaways.
Did you know that every time you send money on mobile money, use a banking app or access a digital loan, you trust someone with your personal information?
That is why we recently brought together regulators, fintechs and data protection professionals under the theme “Trust by Design” to explore how we can strengthen data privacy, manage consent and ensure the responsible use of AI across digital financial services.
As our Managing Director, @DavidAWandera, said, “the true measure of digital innovation is not just how quickly or conveniently it serves customers, but how safely it handles their information”
At Absa, we believe trust must be built into the way financial services are designed, delivered and improved. Because as technology makes banking more convenient, protecting the people who use it must remain at the centre of every innovation.
Happy 64th Independence to the Pearl! 🇺🇬
To many more years of peace, economic prosperity, and agricultural excellence!
What if your bank could look beyond your everyday transactions and help you think about the bigger picture of your wealth?
That is the thinking behind #AbsaWealth.
For the everyday investor, Absa Invest Plus provides access to professionally managed UGX and USD funds from as little as UGX 10,000. Customers can also access Government Treasury Bills and Treasury Bonds through Absa.
For customers with more complex wealth needs, Absa Wealth brings together wealth advisory, multi currency banking, specialised lending, structured products, listed assets, global custody services and local and international investment opportunities.
With Absa Wealth, we are bringing banking, investment and advice together around one ambition: helping you generate, grow and protect your wealth.

Do you know wealth creation is not just for the wealthy?
For many us, building wealth starts with something much simpler: putting money aside consistently and making better decisions about where that money goes.
But saving alone is not the same as building wealth.
As more Ugandans accumulate savings, the bigger question becomes what we do with that money. How do we make it work for us? How do we diversify?
That is where the conversation around wealth needs to change.
It is no longer only about having enough money to invest. It is about having the right knowledge, access and solutions to make deliberate decisions with the money we have.
The journey to wealth can start with what you have today.
