Please check on your people once in a while. People are silently going through a lot in Naija. There’s this bolt driver who happened to carry me on my first trip to Abuja during my JAPA journey. While talking, I discovered we both graduated from same school and even the same department (but he graduated two years before me). That was how we just connected and anytime I go to Abuja, he would be the one to drive me round till I finally left Nigeria. Once in a while we would just talk on call. I woke up this morning and it was his message I first saw on WhatsApp. Too many things I can’t even say here. I just had to call him, encourage him and sent him the small ₦70K in my Opay account. Before family man go cry on call, you go know say water dun pass garri. 🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿

The Kenya Afforbale Housing is what you can conclude as a Housing intervention for the low and middle income households. Take the Units unveiled in Eldoret for instance. Two-bedroom unit is going for $18,476. You pay an initial deposit of 5% which is $924. Monthly payments of $116 for 25 years. That is why a 21-year old in this frame is an owner of a home today. If these figures are accurate, compare to what they call affordable housing in Ghana.

6 Years Later! We are still dealing with Insecurity, hunger, poverty, lack of proper health care and the highest level of corruption and impunity. The saddest part is that we are even more divided as a people at a time when we should be most united. I hope one day we truly realize the power that we have as citizens and stop allowing a few selfish individuals destroy the success and prosperity of the majority of us. Till then, ✌🏾 and 🤍

Kenya's President William Ruto has completed 2,157 housing units in Eldoret City at a cost of $40.8 million. He has handed over the keys to the homes to the new homeowners. It includes 104 shops, a kindergarten, playgrounds, green open spaces, a clubhouse and a swimming pool.

“By March 31, 2026, all capital liabilities from previous years will be fully funded and closed. From April, Nigeria will operate on a single budget backed by a single revenue cycle — no overlaps, no excuses, no rollovers.” Those were President Bola Tinubu’s own words when he presented the 2026 budget. March 31 has come and gone. April has come and gone. And today, Nigerians are still watching the Federal Government operate with overlapping budget cycles. In fact, the capital component of the 2025 budget has now been extended to December 31, 2026, meaning the very rollover President Tinubu promised would end by March is still with us. So what happened to “no overlaps, no excuses, no rollovers”? This is not just an accounting issue buried inside Abuja paperwork. When budgets are passed but money does not reach ministries, hospitals, roads, schools and other projects on time, ordinary Nigerians feel the consequences. Look at the health sector. During the 2026 budget defence, Health Minister Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate told the House of Representatives that his ministry received only ₦36 million out of the ₦218 billion capital allocation approved for 2025. ₦36 million out of ₦218 billion. The minister said the personnel budget was released, but implementation of the capital budget suffered badly because of inadequate cash releases. He also disclosed that delays in counterpart funding affected access to some health programmes. Think about what that means. A budget can announce billions for hospitals, equipment, infrastructure and healthcare programmes, but if the money is not released, the figures remain numbers on paper. And Nigerians do not receive healthcare from paper. Hospitals need equipment. Primary healthcare centres need funding. Doctors and nurses need functional facilities. Patients need drugs. Communities need access to quality healthcare. That is why budget implementation matters just as much as budget announcements. To be fair, some health funding is being released. Just days ago, the Federal Government approved ₦40.76 billion for the third-quarter Basic Health Care Provision Fund. But that does not erase the larger question about capital-budget execution. How did a ministry with a ₦218 billion capital allocation receive just ₦36 million in the previous budget cycle? Why was the March 31 deadline missed? Why is the 2025 capital budget still running deep into 2026? How much of every ministry’s capital allocation has actually been released? How many projects advertised in the budget have received cash? And how many are simply waiting for another extension? Government should stop treating budget presentation as achievement. A budget is a promise. Release is delivery. Implementation is the result. President Tinubu promised Nigerians that by April 2026 there would be one budget, one revenue cycle and no more rollovers. That promise has not been met. And when even critical sectors such as health struggle to receive appropriated capital funds, Nigerians have every right to demand explanations. No more celebrating trillions written inside budget documents. Show the releases. Show the projects. Show the implementation. Show Nigerians where the money went. Because a government should ultimately be judged not by how beautifully it announces a budget, but by how faithfully it delivers what that budget promised.
When NNPC Limited sits down with its partners around one of Nigeria’s largest onshore oil and gas assets, the conversation should ultimately come down to one thing: how do we get more barrels safely, efficiently and sustainably? That is why the recent engagement between NNPC Limited’s Group CEO, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Shoreline Natural Resources Managing Director Tunde Karim, and Heritage Oil Chief Executive Ado Oseragbaje deserves attention. The discussions focused on OML 30, reviewing the asset’s performance and examining the drilling programme planned for the block. OML 30 is held by NNPC E&P Limited in partnership with Shoreline Natural Resources, with Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited serving as operator. It remains an important part of Nigeria’s onshore production architecture, with existing infrastructure, producing fields and significant opportunities for further optimisation and development. Heritage says production improvements on the asset have previously benefited from facility upgrades, well optimisation, interventions, flowline repairs, improved security and stronger community relations. The real significance of meetings like this is not the handshake or photographs. It is what happens afterwards. How quickly can drilling plans move from discussion to execution? How many additional wells can be brought onstream? How much production can be recovered through interventions and facility optimisation? How can downtime be reduced? How can infrastructure integrity, security and host-community relationships be strengthened? And how much can OML 30 contribute to Nigeria’s broader production ambitions? Those are the questions that matter. NNPC Limited has publicly set a target of raising crude production to 2 million barrels per day by 2027 and 3 million barrels per day by 2030, alongside significant investment ambitions across upstream, midstream and downstream operations. Reaching those targets will require more than announcements. It will require existing assets to perform better, mature fields to be optimised, drilling programmes to be executed on schedule, production losses to be reduced and partnerships to operate with clear commercial discipline. That is where OML 30 becomes important. It is also consistent with the strategic direction of NNPC E&P Limited, which lists increasing safe and sustainable oil and gas production, maximising uptime, reducing unplanned losses and improving facilities integrity among its core objectives. Under Ojulari’s leadership, NNPC Limited has increasingly tied its public messaging to measurable production growth, investment and commercial performance. The company reported that crude and condensate production rose from around 1.60mbpd in April 2025 to about 1.67mbpd by April 2026, while gas production also increased over the same period. That trajectory must now translate into bigger gains from strategic assets like OML 30. The partnership with Shoreline and Heritage therefore deserves to be judged by delivery: More wells. Higher uptime. Stronger safety. Better asset integrity. More production. More value for Nigeria. The engagement is a useful signal, but execution will be the real test. If the planned drilling programme is delivered efficiently and the partners continue improving operational performance, OML 30 can play a meaningful role in supporting national production growth. That is the kind of progress Nigerians should watch closely: less noise, more execution, and ultimately, bigger barrels. #BiggerBarrels #EnergyForToday #EnergyForTomorrow
