It don’t like promoting my own work, but I feel like I’ve written the book God put me on earth to write for his church. It’ll be released in Nov, so I’m gonna try to get the word out about Savoring Scripture in the coming months. amazon.com/Savoring-Scriptur…
I've been chipping away at this for a while, but today I'll submit my draft of my shortish (30k words) commentary on the use of the Old Testament in Isaiah 1-39 as part of a massive volume with @BakerAcademic edited by Mark Boda and Wilson de Angelo Cunha. Such a fun project.
In 2021, I began the journey of commenting pericope by pericope through the Prophets for a handbook with @BakerAcademic . The mountain was steep—in fact after making it through Isaiah in 2022, I talked with my editor about finding a co-author but he said to just keep writing.
In 2023, the ascents of Jeremiah and Lamentations were extraordinarily rich and moving. At that point, I knew that this was a once in a lifetime journey that I wanted to complete. Next came, Ezekiel, Daniel, and then the Twelve (Minor Prophets) in 2024-2025.

World Relief works with refugees who have been vetted and approved by the US to come here and are living in the US. Reports are that even refugees are targets in the immigration crack down.

Last week, my wife accompanied a refugee to pick up her kids from school due to the grave fear they live under. I hope we can declare to our elected officials that refugees and those who are here with US approval and are amidst the official processes should not be targeted.

What a delight to celebrate with my friend Yacouba. He and Elizabeth Mburu completed the monumental task of bringing the 2nd ed of the Africa Bible Commentary to completion. it could have the widest reach of any biblical commentary from this generation. @ZonderAcademic
