This is actually closer to AGI than whatever OpenAi is doing.
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence. block.xyz/dessa

KWANKWASO AT 70: IT IS TIME TO PLAY POLITICS OF COMMON SENSE. Dear Senator @KwankwasoRM , Happy 70th Birthday to you, a man whose political journey, particularly in Kano, has demonstrated that leadership can make a tangible difference in the lives of ordinary people. Your record in education, your pro-poor policies and your investment in the welfare of the less privileged have earned you a place in the political history of our country. These are not insignificant achievements, and they are precisely why I believe you still have a historic role to play in Nigeria’s future. At 70, you must rise above the distractions of the moment and begin to think seriously about the bigger picture. Nigeria is approaching another defining political season, and the pendulum of power will inevitably swing again. If the North is to prepare effectively for its next opportunity to lead this country, it must do so through strategic thinking, political maturity and the building of bridges across the country. Kwankwaso, you are a Northerner who can make a credible case for being trusted with the welfare of the people. Your record in Kano, particularly in education and policies directed at the poor, gives you a foundation upon which to build a much bigger national legacy. But you must not allow present political calculations to diminish that legacy. My candid advice to you is this: step into the grassroots political shoes of the late President @MBuhari , and recognise the strategic value of supporting President @officialABAT at this moment in our national journey. Buhari understood the political weight of the ordinary Nigerian, particularly the people of the North. His connection with the grassroots was a formidable political asset. You have your own record, your own constituency and your own strengths. The question is whether you will deploy those assets to build a sustainable national political future or expend them on an alliance that may not serve your long-term interests. And this brings me to your present political association with Peter Obi. With all due respect to him, I believe you bring considerably more political experience, deeper executive credentials and a more extensive record of practical governance to the table. Why, then, should a man of your political stature hitch his future to a political arrangement in which his own experience and accomplishments risk being overshadowed? You should be setting the direction, not surrendering your political judgment to another man’s ambition. Supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not require you to abandon your convictions or surrender your independence. It requires you to recognise the national interest, appreciate the importance of political stability and position yourself to contribute meaningfully to the next phase of Nigeria’s development. There is room for political competition, but there is also a time when wisdom demands cooperation. At 70, your concern should be the people you have served, the people you still hope to serve and the political foundations you will leave for the next generation. The North needs leaders who can think beyond immediate grievances, build national alliances and prepare for the future without sacrificing the interests of their people today. Kwankwaso, Kwankwaso! Leader sir, Egbon, it is time to reconsider the road you are travelling. Do not let the politics of the moment rob you of the opportunity to play a far greater role in the Nigeria that is emerging. It is time to play politics of common sense. Happy 70th Birthday Sir, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. May wisdom guide your next steps, may your experience serve the nation, and may your remaining years in public life bring greater progress to Kano, the North and Nigeria as a whole. Otunba Segun Showunmi The Alternative.

BREAKING: FG CONFIRMS EBOLA CASE IN ABUJA The Federal Government has confirmed a case of Ebola in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, involving a woman who arrived on an international flight from Uganda. The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, says the patient is currently in isolation and receiving treatment. He says health authorities have identified 44 close contacts, while public and private health facilities nationwide have been placed on high alert. The Federal Government is urging Nigerians to remain calm, maintain proper hygiene and report suspected cases to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.

Nobody eats their own words like this MF.
Trying to claim "MY MESSAGE HAS BEEN TWISTED" won't change what we all heard you say on video. No one twisted your message, certainly not. Your message, asking Nigerians abroad to stop sending money to their loved ones at home, is clear as day and a representation of the vileness in your heart and the hatred you harbour for Nigerians, whose only offence was rejecting you at the polls. You have chosen to go on another divisive route, which you are known for, for your campaign. You have set Christians against Muslims, Southerners against Northerners, children against parents, Nigerians against President Tinubu, and have now graduated to setting Nigerians abroad against Nigerians at home. Even by your standards, this is ridiculously low! You seek to govern the people you hate. You do not care about evil deeds as long as they advance your political ambitions. Unfortunately for you, Nigerians are wise and sophisticated people; they can read between the lines. Your divisive rhetoric did not work in 2023, and it certainly will not work in 2027. By the way, this has now been added to your long, inexhaustible list of flip-flopping, contradictory statements, lies, and denials of past statements and promises. Nigerians are watching and taking stock!

The MF just admitted the economy is not stable.
Nigerians Will Pay Fuel Tax When The Economy Becomes Stable — Minister of Finance, Taiwo Oyedele Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, has said the Federal Government will introduce fuel taxes when the economy stabilises and citizens’ incomes can accommodate the extra costs. He disclosed this in an interview with ARISE News on the sidelines of the 2026 IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand, explaining that the government would first consolidate its economic reforms, restore growth and improve household earnings. Oyedele said imposing additional levies immediately after petrol subsidy removal would have worsened Nigerians’ hardship. “You remove subsidy, you can’t immediately impose taxes. That would be insensitive. You push the people to the wall,” he said. The minister noted that fuel taxes account for between 20 and 80 per cent of petroleum prices in some countries, while several African nations impose multiple levies on fuel products. He said the proposed revenue would support infrastructure and help the country prepare for future disruptions in fuel supply. “Not because we want to impose taxes, it will be because those amounts of taxes will be dedicated into road infrastructure, they’ll be dedicated into building our fuel reserve, that can help us moderate prices of fuel products, if anything happens,” he explained. According to Oyedele, the arrangement could also allow the government to suspend the levies temporarily when necessary to cushion the effects of market shocks. “This is what more than 50 countries around the world, they were reducing the taxes, but we had no taxes, there was nothing to reduce,” he added. “There has to be an order published in the gazette by the finance minister, which means we can’t do it in secret,” he said. Oyedele maintained that the taxes would only be introduced when economic conditions improved sufficiently and Nigerians could understand the reasons for the policy and its expected benefits.

Ahahahaha... This is it! You love the poor. You love them so much you want them to remain in penury! Just when it looks like there's a glimpse of hope, you're coming to play their poverty as a storm in a tea cup and nothing more.

This is the reason Dr Bosun Tijani blocked me. I quoted his NUCAP post with my experience as a project coordinator on similar MTN/Huawei rural sites in the past, and asked what would be different this time. He blocked me instead of replying. If a sitting minister under President Tinubu can’t take constructive criticism from a young Nigerian, tell me if this country is getting better anytime soon.
This is not a new project. As far back as 2015, MTN and Huawei already had something similar called MTN Rural Telephony, and that was before bandits became this widespread. I was a project coordinator on some of those sites. The biggest setback was always security in these remote areas. Almost all the backup batteries were stolen. Technicians were often 12–24 hours away, and many sites weren’t accessible by road. Some towers stayed down for days or even months because of community issues. There were cases where security guards were killed when robbers came for the equipment. These projects are extremely expensive to maintain. That’s why I’m not sure why the government is taking on the role of running them directly. Private operators already struggled with exactly these problems. What will be different this time?

DAY 2: EXPERTS DISCUSS AI GOVERNANCE AND ELECTORAL INTEGRITY AHEAD OF #NigeriaDecides2027 The second day of the AI and Democracy Forum 2026 opened with a plenary session examining how Nigeria can govern the use of artificial intelligence in the 2027 General Elections while safeguarding electoral integrity and public trust. The session, titled “Governing AI in Nigeria’s 2027 Elections: Safeguards, Accountability, and Electoral Integrity,” explored the need for clear regulatory frameworks, defined institutional responsibilities, effective risk assessment and accountability mechanisms to guide the responsible use of AI in the electoral process. Moderated by Geoffrey Uzono of Channels Television, the discussion featured former INEC National Commissioner, Prof. Okechukwu Ibeanu; Dr. Lisa Poggiali of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES); Cynthia Mbamalu of Yiaga Africa; and Sani Suleiman of Paradigm Initiative. The discussions underscored the importance of establishing clear standards and effective oversight to address the risks associated with AI, prevent its misuse and ensure that emerging technologies support, rather than undermine, the credibility of elections. As preparations for the 2027 General Elections continue, the conversations reinforced the need for responsible technology governance, institutional accountability and sustained collaboration among electoral stakeholders to protect the integrity of the electoral process and strengthen public confidence. #AIDF2026 #AIforDemocracyForum #NigeriaDecides2027 @YIAGA
