Abbas flags off projects in Ikara, seeks support for Tinubu, Uba Sani
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Tajudeen Abbas, has urged Nigerians to re-elect President Bola Tinubu in 2027 to sustain ongoing reforms and development projects.
Abbas made the appeal during the groundbreaking ceremony for road construction and educational projects, alongside the commissioning of a Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The projects include the construction of a road from Sani Ahmad Junction to Central Primary School, Ikara, and a National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) study centre, hall and library.
Others are a block of 12 classrooms with an office and toilets, aimed at improving access to education and supporting community development.
Abbas said the sacrifices associated with the Federal Government’s reforms were temporary, expressing optimism that Nigerians would soon begin to experience the benefits.
He urged Nigerians to give Tinubu a second term to complete the reforms, describing the President as a friend of Kaduna State.
The Speaker said Kaduna had benefited from four federal university projects within three years under Tinubu’s administration, after decades without an additional federal university.
He listed the upgrade of the Federal College of Education, Zaria, to a university, the establishment of the University of Applied Sciences in Kachia and the conversion of the Kaduna petroleum institute into a university.
Abbas also said a bill he sponsored had secured presidential approval for the conversion of Kaduna Polytechnic into a Federal University of Technology.
He said the development, alongside other federal projects, justified the need for Kaduna residents to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Abbas also urged residents to support Gov. Uba Sani’s re election in 2027, citing ongoing road, water and health projects across the state.
He warned that a change of government could jeopardise the completion of ongoing projects, urging residents to support continuity.
The Speaker commended Uba Sani for his contributions to Kaduna State’s development and support for his emergence as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
He also solicited support for the APC senatorial candidate, Dr. Murtala Ramalan, and other party candidates in the 2027 elections.
Abbas described Ramalan as an experienced public administrator who would work to attract development projects and deliver democratic dividends to the people.
He further urged voters to support other APC candidates from the area, including those contesting seats in the House of Representatives and the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
Earlier, Gov. Uba Sani, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. AbdulKadir Mu’azu Meyere, commended the Speaker for extending development projects to communities across the state.
Gov Sani said Ikara had witnessed significant changes over the years, urging residents to appreciate the efforts of the President, governor and Speaker through their votes.
He called on residents to support APC candidates at all levels, from the presidency to the state assembly, to sustain development initiatives.
He also prayed for continued peace and progress in Kaduna State, urging residents to demonstrate their appreciation for the projects through active participation in the electoral process.

I was joined by key stakeholders as I performed the flag-off of the reconstruction of the 80-kilometre Zaria–Soba–Pambegua Road and the construction of Kinkiba Road, two significant federal interventions that will strengthen connectivity, expand access to markets and stimulate economic activity across Kaduna State.
I sincerely thank His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his sustained commitment to infrastructure development in Kaduna State and across Nigeria. I also commend the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, GCON, for facilitating these projects and advancing the interests of our people.
I welcome the Speaker’s acknowledgement of our administration’s consistent support for him and other members of the National Assembly. His commendation affirms our shared conviction that cooperation across institutions is essential to translating public expectations into tangible development.
These projects will complement our administration’s extensive investments in roads, improving mobility for communities and opening wider opportunities for farmers, traders and businesses. Their enduring value will be measured in easier journeys, stronger livelihoods and greater access to essential services.
We will continue with purpose and resolve to deepen collaboration with the Federal Government and our representatives to secure investments that address our people’s needs and ensure that development reaches communities throughout Kaduna State.

The projects, facilitated by Abbas, include a 10-classroom block at Banki Primary School, with staff offices, VIP toilets and furniture.
Gov. Uba Sani served as the special guest of honour at the ceremony, which highlighted collaboration between the federal and state governments in delivering development projects.
Abbas said the interventions were designed to strengthen education, healthcare, infrastructure and community development in the constituency.
He said 10 major projects had been earmarked for Kubau, including male and female hostels at the College of Nursing, Pambegua.
Others are a National Open University campus, community library, community hall, rural market, recreational centre and renovation of facilities at the College of Nursing.
Abbas also listed the Kankia Kargi road among the projects, adding that three additional roads had been proposed for consideration.
The proposed roads are Kargi Dokan Majaki through Kangar, Anchau Hakiya and kwanar Mainono-Banki.
He assured residents that he and the Kaduna Government would share responsibility for the additional road projects to ensure their implementation.
Abbas described the classroom block as an investment in children’s future, saying every child deserved equal opportunities to learn and succeed.
He urged contractors to use quality materials and comply with approved specifications, stressing that the facilities should serve generations to come.
According to him, the National Open University study centre would enable workers, teachers, farmers, traders and young parents to pursue further education while meeting other responsibilities.
He said the proposed library would improve access to knowledge, while the community hall would support learning, training and civic activities.
Abbas noted that Kubau’s agricultural potential, including the production of maize, millet, groundnuts, beans and sugarcane, made education and access to modern agricultural knowledge important.
He said the projects aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly its emphasis on human capital development, education and primary healthcare.
The speaker commended the Kaduna Government for its commitment to rural development, saying cooperation among the federal, state and local governments was necessary to achieve sustainable development.
He urged residents to monitor the projects, protect completed facilities and hold contractors accountable for quality.
Abbas also urged residents to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, saying continued support would sustain development initiatives and ongoing reforms.
Sani, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. AbdulKadir Mu’azu Mayere, was commended for partnering with federal representatives to bring development projects to rural communities.
Mayere urged residents to support Tinubu, Sani and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections, citing ongoing development initiatives.

I had the privilege of receiving a large group of patriotic Nigerians, alongside thousands of their supporters, from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) into the All Progressives Congress (APC). The delegation was led by Alhaji Bashir Saidu, former commissioner for local government, former commissioner of finance, a former Chief of Staff to the Kaduna State Governor, alongside Mal. Jafaru Sani, a former governorship aspirant and former North West Vice Chairman of the ADC.
The group comprised distinguished leaders, former party executives and influential political stakeholders whose wealth of experience, record of service and commitment to public life are widely acknowledged. Their decision to join the APC transcends partisan realignment; it reflects a shared conviction in the imperative of national unity, enduring security, inclusive prosperity and a Nigeria where every citizen has a genuine opportunity to thrive.
This development underscores the growing resonance of the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by our leader, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. His leadership continues to inspire confidence, rekindle hope and encourage broader participation in the collective endeavour of nation-building. In Kaduna State, we remain resolute in advancing this vision through inclusive governance, sustainable development, responsible leadership and people-centred policies that translate public aspirations into tangible outcomes.
To our new members, I extend a heartfelt welcome to the APC family. Our party is strengthened by the diversity of its membership, the richness of its collective experience and the common purpose that binds us together. Whether longstanding members or new entrants, we all share a responsibility to serve with integrity, deepen our democratic values and advance the welfare of our people. Every member matters and are treated equally, every voice deserves consideration, and every meaningful contribution brings us closer to our shared aspirations. Together, with unity of purpose and an unwavering commitment to service, we will consolidate our achievements, strengthen our party and work diligently towards a more peaceful, prosperous and inclusive future for all.
