People calling teachers (who buy their own supplies, work hundreds of hours of unpaid overtime, and work extra jobs because they are so underpaid) selfish because they are worried about going back to school during a pandemic is peak irony in 2020.

NEW: @OKCPD says the officers who fatally shot Bennie Edwards on Friday were not trained in crisis intervention. The 40-hour mental health training is voluntary and fewer than 14% of OKCPD officers have received it. Edwards was homeless and had bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Today OKCPD killed a man. They killed a Black man. They killed a Black man in crisis, who was running away from them. We know this because, this time, we don't have to wait for the body cam footage. It was caught on someone's phone, as they sat in their car in the parking lot.
