I'm not against digital at all, I just want the choice for physical games. I will keep advocating for this as long as possible
I truly feel like one of the key factors that makes a console a console is having physical games
Keep supporting physical if you like it!! 💽
Sony and PlayStation confirms they are moving forward with digital only future and won’t reverse the decision no matter what
There is no amount of fan backlash, losing fans, or whatever that can make them change this decision. It’s truly over for physical games
Sony CFO Lin Tao says they will not change their plans to end physical disc production and will cautiously move forward with the plan!
"There are various reasons we made this decision, the biggest being that the digitalization of content overall has been progressing, that’s the big factor. It’s not just for PlayStation, but for all kinds of content, digitalization is progressing.
And so when we think about the future–and we put in a lot of thought and time, and we cautiously considered this–and we came to this conclusion, and we’re going to cautiously move this forward. And to this decision, we have received various opinions and people have strong views, and we understand that the community has put forth those views to us.
Games are loved by many people. It’s a form of entertainment that’s loved by people, and it’s connected to people’s fond memories in many cases. And so we understand those emotions. We want to consider that. And in the future digital ecosystem, how do we engage the gamers is something that we would like to continue to explore."

Honestly, shout out to all gaming companies who provide sales data and do it regularly. GAMES SOLD!
Like for me I get happy to know a game I liked sold good so the studio can do more and keep thriving. The way capcom and Nintendo does it is very good IMO
Last week, Playstation PSN was down. Today, XBOX has been down for over 15 hours
Clearly, they don't have the infrastructure to be digital only for consoles. Physical games NEED to be an option for people no matter (with offline play)
This picture says it all, downloaded games don't work but disc based works.
Playstation and Xbox are not even close to be able to go fully digital, this is comical.
Just imagine if gta 6 is not playable when it launces 💀

Sony wants to abandon fans? Let's give them a small taste of their own medicine!
Together with other creators we call for a 1 week #PSBlackout in August. No logins, no play sessions, no purchases on any of Sony's platforms.

24 hours after the announcement and #PSBlackout is already a partial success!
Players, creators and media continue to spread awareness about the downsides of a digital-only future, and why physical games are important. Keep educating people! Keep the backlash going!

New "ad" for the all-digital future just dropped!
Xbox services down and once again, many people are barred from downloading, playing or purchasing games. Add to that the small legal inconvenience that they can just rip purchases from your library or ban accounts for no reason.
